Build-A-Bear Workshop — Local services in San Francisco

I haven't actually been to this location, but I walked into a BAB for the first time today in a mall in Spokane Washington. The staff was very friendly and the employee at the stuffing ceremony ( I don't want to assume their pronouns) was incredibly engaging. The performance was reminded me of Disney (I've been to Disneyland and Disney World (U.S. Locations)).

Based on what I saw today I know the BAB on Fisherman's Wharf must be next level!!! I'm mean it's in San Francisco!!! I imagine there is all kinds of food and shops to tour with your newest best friend.

I didn't buy a bear, or any accessories but there were TONS of options. The Teddy Tote caring bags are a MUST ( they don't call them that but they should). I just cannot gush enough about how personalized you can make your plushy. It reminds me of a grade school word problem where you have to figure out how many outfit combinations you can make from the items in a closet. At BAB there are just too many too count!

Ohhh! AND IF YOU EVER MISPLACE YOUR CUDDLE BUDDY: if the finder does not fall in love with them and decide to keep them for themselves, they can return it to ANY BAB and they will make sure you are reunited with them (confusing sentence I know, but I want to be respectful...

I'm not sure if they still do this but for every 10$ or 20$ you spend you get a 10$ gift card for 5$ which is pretty much a yes every time for me and now I have like 7 gift cards with 10$on them from only 2 trips. This location is so much fun. It's the only BAB Workshop I go to with my kid. They've always got the best variety in stock from the bears themselves to accessories and clothes. There is something for everyone. The employees there are always genuinely having a good time and there's never a dull tone when they do the little wish ritual for the hearts! You'd think that working for a company who's target audience is children the staff get burnt out easily and often(since most of us are bitter from life on life's terms) but these folks are top notch in catering to the kids. There's even some adult themed bears online in "the bear cave" and they make for some pretty freaking cute couples gifts. The hello kitty and Pokemon BAB sets are a huge hit right now consisting of all the most popular and super adorable character choices.Both lineups have frequent sales on sets with different outfits and accessories. My experience at this location was disheartening today. After a long day of trying to help my younger cousin get adjusted to her move to California from Texas, I wanted to leave her with a build a bear with audio from me... just something to help remind her of home. We finally arrived to this location at 3:30pm and was turned away by the store. Their website (and the sign on the window) said they closed at 6, but the woman consistently said they were closing at 5. I find this really upsetting because I know everyone has their reasons for going to Build-A-Bear but this meant a lot to my family and I.
