As of writing this review, Iāve completed 20+ classes. As a whole, Iād say my experience has a been largely positive and I enjoy going to Pilates.
However, I have few very specific points to provide feedback for :
There are frequent changes to the instructors once you get to class. You sign up for one and end up with another instructor covering for others. I understand this is normal and needed sometimes, but as Pilates is also very dependent on instructors, and some are better than others, I at least choose my classes based on my schedule and more importantly the instructors I want to work with They need better variety of instructors and classes on weekends especially Saturdays. It would be nice if there was a good rotation of classes and instructors I havenāt missed a class or been late to one since, but there was one day when I was exactly 5 mins 30s late to class and the front desk wouldnāt let me in. As much as I can appreciate that we need to be dedicated to our health, life comes up and things up, the least of which is we should be allowed some flexibility. Which by the way, Iāve seen people come in past 5-10 mins in class. There is one specific instructor - she instructed the class while she was sitting down for about 90% of the class duration - 0 instruction on form, 0 interest, just extremely lackluster instructing and she was instructing from the other end of the room so you couldnāt hear half of what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me first say that my own physical health has not always been a priority. Whether it be putting more hours in at work, long commutes or simply just spending time at the computer, it's been clear over this past year that I have needed to emphasize taking care of my body in a serious and committed way.
This is why I can say clearly and simply: signing up at club Pilates SOMA was the best decision for my physical well being I've ever made. I do not write many reviews, yet I do so now because I have become overcome with emotion after the sudden realization today that I no longer feel discomfort in my own body, that all of that pain and unease is actually gone and that finally I actually feel connected to myself physically.
I know that everyone finds success with physical health through different means. I mean there's a million different methods to try these days; but for me, personally, whether it be as a result of the amazing staff or the incredible instructors; have had the most rewarding and valuable physical wellness experience over these past 6 months that I've ever had in my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been a member at numerous club Pilates in the Bay Area and Sacramento and just finished my first month SOMA. It's a good location and they were running a great special for first month unlimited.
Everyone who works the front desk is super friendly and available to answer any questions. I sampled a number of instructors, and all put me through a great workout and would chime in with pointers and cues to improve my practice. I took a lot of classes with Elysia, especially cardio sculpt--she gets to business and works you out! Great class. It's not a crazy intense vibe, which I like and is also welcoming to Pilates "newbies."
It can get expensive and often classes from 4-7pm are full--but this Club Pilates is solid. If you are on the fence, just come by the studio. Pilates is an awesome system which helps me keep my body and mind in alignment!...
