We would like to share our experiences of her services with you. We’ve engaged Karen to help buy our 2nd home. While we got over-bid by the “all-cash” buyers on a home we were interested in, Karen found her way to talking to neighbors around that neighborhood. She miraculously found a home owner that was willing to sell his home. Through negotiation after negotiation for months, with lots of indecisiveness, rent back discussions, and legality questions from both parties, we finally closed on the transaction. It was Karen’s hard work and persistent effort that got us this 2nd home.

We are now in the market to buy again. The market has gone crazier than ever. This time we had wanted to buy in a neighborhood with excellent schools, so competition is fierce. We wrote offers after offers, with countless hours from Karen preparing disclosure packages for us to sign in Docusign. She was readily there for us every time, even when she was on vacation. She was prompt to showing us any property ahead of open house and in answering questions after questions. Despite all the effort, we found ourselves unsuccessful, so we got desperate. We decided to make a bid on a not so ideal home of our choice at a very high price with no contingencies. Ultimately our offer got accepted, but we felt bad instead of happy or excited. At that moment, we knew we made the wrong decision. Buyer’s remorse? Not sure, but we didn’t want to regret any further given it is a lot of money. We called Karen and explained the situation to her. She not only was patient with us, she understood and said she would try her best to help get our deposit back. She did exactly what she said…she worked with the seller’s agent and got our money back. A decision mistake made on our part that caused her to lose her commission, yet in turn she protected our financial loss. That is one amazing agent!

When my wife and I started the process of finding our first property to purchase in SF, we wanted to work with an agent that was patient, experienced and honest above all else. Karen Mai brought these key qualities and so much more to our house hunt. During the escrow, Karen makes sure anything follow through, and do the best to protect buyer’s interest, like a Guardian or Safe keeper. Karen never push you getting into a deal which you might feel some cloud in your mind, unlike some realtors who wants to make a quick commission and move forward to the next client. In stead she explains Pro and Con, give you some suggestion and thought, let you choose your path. But definitely she has her Unique Techniques, which can’t be found on other to secure a deal that a house you like or want.
