I have been to the Waikiki location with absolutely no issues, great sales people, and a wonderful purchase. This location completely turned me off with their sales people and way of handling things. First they talk about the usual special pearl opening and then they said I could pick a mount afterward which ranges from 20s to thousands. I told the woman I was definitely interested and I was thinking about spending $200 or so (depending on what I see, if it's amazing and good quality, then I would obviously like to spend more). I asked her if she could show me the mounts and she kept insisting that I should open up an oyster first incase I "fall in love" with the mount before picking a pearl. I kept insisting that all I wanted to do was to see the different types of mounts beforehand, not pick one specifically and decide on it. I just wanted to look at my options incase there wasn't anything that I liked. Then she kept going on about how they prefer that I open up the oyster first because I might fall in love with some sort of a mount that doesn't fit the pearl type. Not sure if it's a marketing scheme to get me to buy a pearl initially, but first of all, I made it clear I wanted to spend money and was asking to see the options, not make a final decision. I got tired of asking to see the mounts and started walking away. I was literally willing to just spend money on them and the woman then said, "Oh well there wasn't much in your price range anyway" (after she said herself that the mounts were between 20s to thousands). WOW...I may look young but I'm almost 30 years old and looking to throw money around. Definitely not spending it here and I'm going back to Hawaii...
Read moreDON’T GO HERE. My mom and I usually buy a pearl when we come to San Francisco. We’ve also had a great time, and the ladies at the front booth have always been really nice and accommodating. This time was different. My sister and I were planning to get pearls together, because she’s never owned pearls. The lady who helped us was Erika. She was informative and excited with us until we started choosing mounts and necklaces. I requested for sterling silver because I wanted it to match my Tiffany necklace, she insisted on white gold, which was fine. She only showed us mounts that were $70 and up and she lied saying those were the only mounts they had. Her demeanor towards me changed us changed when we went with the cheaper options. My sister didn’t want to purchase a chain for her pearl and we could tell she was upset with us in the way she began assisting us. Although my sister was content with hers, I was extremely unhappy with my purchase. When I came back to possibly return my purchase, Erika then showed me cheaper mount options. She was rude and I noticed that she and another coworker were talking and rolling their eyes about my decision.
And then I noticed that the mount was put on poorly. I went to the booth in the back to have it fixed. The ladies there were so sweet and apologetic about my experience.
This was an unfortunate visit and I will no longer recommend this place. They will try to pressure you into buying something you don’t want. They don’t listen to what you want, they’re truly just trying to shake...
Read moreWe so enjoyed our experience here and I LOVE the pearl ring we left with! If you’re going to open an oyster, be prepared with a budget in mind for the setting since the price range varies to very expensive depending on what you choose. We didn’t chat about a budget beforehand and it was much more than I thought it would be (my boyfriend sweetly bought this for more than $200 all in). I adore the ring and the experience was very special and memorable, but I’m worried that the setting is less secure than a ring you would purchase from a jeweler since it’s just set with glue. I’m very careful with it, but still wear it daily and expect that one day it will fall off. The ring we chose is silver with gold leaves, which symbolizes love and respect in Hawaiian culture. It came with a small flyer explaining the meaning! The woman who worked with us was wonderful and I definitely recommend this experience to others. Just keep the choices within a reasonable budget for what it is. I think this would be so special for families with...
