My absolute favorite store in el viejo San Juan. A little over 2 years ago I got my first necklace from here with the map pendant, my husband bought it for me the day before he proposed to me, and it was my first time visiting PR to meet his family so this necklace has held sentimental value to me since. I accidentally broke the chain a few months after, and tried to fix it myself so I could still wear it. Fast forward, we went to PR a few months ago, and I wanted to go back to the store so I could get the Coqui pendant. The store owner was there and assisted me (super sweet family runs the store), and she offered to fix my necklace for me and ship it back home to me in North Carolina. I already thought that was great customer service. It showed up in the mail about a month later with a very nice letter, and not only my fixed chain, but a complimentary brand new one. I love… love… love my coqui! Every time I’m in PR to visit family, I try to find something unique in the island to purchase. As time goes on, it gets harder as local smaller stores are put out of business by larger outside retailers. For me, a lot of stuff can be purchased on the mainland. I found this website and I loved the fact that it was a local family owned Puerto Rican business. I purchased the Mini Coqui charm and although it is dainty, it is a solid sturdy well-made charm. Beautiful and unique charms, as well as an array of other jewely! As a true Puerto Rican, the featured Coqui on the front of the store was the hook. I went in with the intent to just browse but ended purchasing several charms, one of which was the Coqui. Charms are created to wear with any charm bracelet, which I feel was very smart of Mr. Barquet. Both Mr. Barquet and his wife were present and attending clients.
