From the entrance up until me and my mother left the lady was constantly walking behind us, trying to sell us stuff and just would not let us enjoy the store and browse, we ended up buy a bottle of hot sauce and a "rum cake" which i ended up paying $30 dollars and the lady just kept on stalking us basically taking things in her hands and just pratically begging us to buy it. I bought the 2 items cause i felt bad and also because businesses are going to through hard times too but never in my life will i ever shop there again because they gouge the prices to an obscene level. Me and my mom felt very unconfortable with the lady constantly interrupting us and harrassing us to buy stuff. If you like to feel uncomfortable while shopping this is the place to go.. Best to buy from street vendors.

I've seen first hand how the management treat their employees and customers and its not good.
Its sad because its a beautiful store full of folk products and PR aesthetic/sentiment, but someone needs to say the truth.
WARNING:
They have awful/no returning and refund policies. MAKE SURE that whatever you buy isnt damaged or broken.
Many of the products they sell, specially food and beverages, are absurdly overpriced.
Most of their products (except genuine local artist pieces) you can find them on ANY sourvenir store.
They annoy their clients all the time, giving unnecesary info about ANY detail about the products.
They are desperate to sell you ANYTHING, all the time, they don't even let you breathe for a second with their selling skills.
They are all over you, not letting you stroll through the store at your own pace.
Lastly but not less important:
The owners tend to be racist, dismissive with the LGTB+ community and women in general.
Their emoloyees are polite but they seem to be overly pressured to sell anything and overwhelm the clientele.
Had two experiences the same day that I went to this store:
One of the owners was being rude and almost yelling to one of their employees in front of everyone.
One of the old ladies (I believe was one of the owners) was commenting awful things about the hair color (purple) of a girl (prob lgtb+ or queer) that entered the store with her...
Read moreI love this store because of the people that work there. There is a man, his name is escaping me at the moment, but I have seen him the past three years there and he is super sweet. Very knowledge and always willing to talk and answer questions, whether that be about the products or about Puerto Rico in general. My friend and I met another worker today, who I haven’t seen before, Juan I believe his name is. He was very kind and knows a lot about books. Definitely a person to ask about anything PR related, book related, and best things to get for people that are harder to find elsewhere. Out of all the souvenir shops, I like this one the best. You definitely have to keep an eye out anywhere you shop in tourist areas in case of overpriced things, but this store undoubtedly has the best employees. They’re personable, welcoming, and...
