Extremely rude and discriminatory staff.
I was visiting the area from out of town and saw the perfect dress for an upcoming event I have in the window so I stopped in. I was dressed pretty casually as I was on vacation and I do have visible tattoos on my arms and legs (they are high quality and clearly expensive, more expensive than many of the dresses sold here, to the trained eye, but uneducated people often make assumptions).
I guess that gave the first staff member who saw me reason to discriminate against me as she must have assumed I couldn't afford any of the merchandise (I am a traveling healthcare worker so thats quite a laughable assumption) she told me their dresses were out of my price range without even asking me what my price range was and quickly ushered me out of the store.
This shop may have pretty dresses but I'll never patronize a business who employs staff who demonstrate such ugly behavior. It's truly unfortunate because there were several dresses I was interested in purchasing after my brief look around, had staff shown the slightest bit of patience I'd have the dresses I needed for upcoming events and the store would have made a sizeable sale, but oh well, I'm happy to give my money to kinder people who don't turn away customers based on appearances instead.
EDIT in response to reply from business: yes, I'm positive it was your store, and from reading the other 1 star reviews this is quite a common occurrence here, very strange behavior to try to deny it. Rather than shifting responsibility and making excuses you should probably teach your employees better customer service skills since this is clearly a recurring issue that has lost you many...
Read moreI had a Pretty Woman flashback pop in my head with the experience I had here today and not a good experience. Went in today with my daughter on her 16th birthday to buy a dress. When we walked in the woman working asked if we needed help. I said we were looking then when we wanted to try them on the woman said they don’t normally let people try them on and actually said “are you really able to buy a $400 dress?” I was shocked and told her I wouldn’t know if I wanted to buy it until I could see it on my daughter. She relented and let her try on a few dresses and my daughter fell in love with one of the dresses and wanted me to buy it. I was so torn, I didn’t want to give them even a dollar of my money but you will do anything for your kids especially on their 16th birthday. We were so uncomfortable in this store, I have never been treated so badly. I wouldn’t come back to this store if it was the last clothing place on earth, I’d rather go without clothes for the rest of my life. Oh by the way, we did spend $300 so I could and did in fact spend hundreds of dollars on a dress.
EDIT to address owners response-none of the dresses we were wanting to try on were over $350 so that excuse doesn’t work. The employee was the owners mother, not some teenager with no experience. There was no excuse for the way we were treated, take accountability when you mess up, don’t try to make excuses and half truths. I saw MANY girls trying on dresses and heard them ask to try them on and she took them to the fitting room with NO questions asked. You guys should be ashamed, nobody deserves to be treated the way we were and many others obviously from...
Read moreI absolutely love this place and so do my friends, we go here to try on prom dresses or go here when we need to try on pretty dresses we obviously cant afford, but anyways as soon as we walked in I spotted a dress I wanted to try on and an older woman who worked there asked if I wanted to try it on, I said yes and she then asked me if we had an event we were going to, I said no and that we like to look around and try stuff on and this woman told me that she only allows people to try on dresses who have events, which I found rude cause we’ve been here before and the younger girls who work there let us try on dresses for fun, we never touch the locked dresses cause we know those are expensive and are for serious try ons… anyways, I headed to the dressing room where the older woman had set the dress in and right as I closed the curtain she opened it just to tell me how to undo a corset back, which I told her multiple time that I knew how to undo a corset back (because I own corset back dresses), so who ever this older woman employee is she was very unprofessional and rude towards me and made my friends very uncomfortable.…
EDIT SINCE I GOT A REPLY: First off, I don't need a guardian as I am 20 and my two friends are 19, we know how expensive those dresses are which is why we treat them WITH THE UP MOST CARE! Since I "can't try dresses on for fun" there's literally no point of going here anymore since all formal events are either weddings or prom. I've literally gone to other dress stores and they've let us try on dresses for fun. This is probably the worst dress store I've...
