2 Uniquely Skilled Customer Service Ladies:
We (me and my 4 year old) were dropped off at the mall with time to spare. We headed to Hallmark to spend our time and money.
We had a blast looking at all the ornaments and playing the ones that sing and light up. One of the ornaments wasn't as easy to turn on and it slipped off the hook. I had it in my hands, didn't hit the floor or anything, Just needed to be repinned. I felt bad and the store employees were very bugged and irritated that I was showing my son all of the ornaments. He would touch them, turn them on and take the boxes and tell me which ones he wanted.
The employee took the box out of his hands and said that while I thought about which ones I wanted, he should keep them on the shelf.
I eventually felt uncomfortable and proceeded to the register. I tried to make light about the situation (the urgency to leave before we got in trouble) but even the lady ringing up my purchases had an opinion. I told her (nicely, mind you - i was never rude) that there is a difference between destructive touching and curious touching and that he was a great shopper. She told me, "He doesn't need to touch EVERYTHING." I had her repeat the comment to me and at that point, I realized that I didn't need to buy ANYTHING from their store. So I told her that I was sorry but I wasn't going to be buying anything and proceeded to walk out. The other lady waved at me as I left. I COULDN'T believe it. How rude. And I was so nice and considerate and we didn't hurt anything in the store. I can see if we were destructive and messed up things.
Ps - I bought the ornaments on Amazon. And they were cheaper. And I got 5% back in rewards. Ill never shop this Hallmark ever again. Its unfortunate the customer service was...
Read moreSuper poor customer service. They don’t know the difference between a coupon and rewards dollars. I worked for Hallmark for several years and there is a difference. The only thing you CAN’T use rewards dollars on is the sales tax. EVERYTHING else is covered. Hallmark ornaments and sale items are excluded from coupons. They prevented my boyfriend from using the rewards dollars on his purchase after rudely saying “no, we are having to pay people to get these off our hands it’s already discounted we can’t use that”. That’s such a ridiculous line to use. After finding this out from my boyfriend, I returned to the store to ask why they didn’t honor the rewards dollars and proceeded to basically lay out to them rewards dollars being stackable and usable at any and all times. It was now my turn to be condescendingly given the same line of “no, we are having to pay people to get these out of here and they are already discounted”. I then asked where the money was they were paying my boyfriend to take the item off their hands since I noticed they only seemed to charge him not pay him for the items in question. They didn’t have an answer for that. I explained that reward dollars weren’t coupons, they spent as cash and the way they had treated this entire matter was poor and uncalled for. They offered for me to try to come back in when/if a manager was there but at that point I was done. I asked for a refund, was told they couldn’t do one because it was a seasonal item and I explained that since they wouldn’t follow the reward dollar policy, they would have to forget about that no return policy too. (Which I was aware of and is a Hallmark policy.) Honestly, it wasn’t about the money at that point, it was about...
Read moreOkay, I’m not a grumpy shopper nor do I ever get mad if someone can’t help, but I had the rudest employee experience. I came in before without my exchange just to ask the policy without a recipe. They said just bring it in and they can exchange for the same value. Sweet. I wanted to exchange a gift my husband got me for Christmas, and she said I couldn’t without a receipt and for that store and within 30 days. I was disappointed and just left. Then I looked up the policy and found that you can, so I came back into the store and waited in line at the cash register. I wasn’t mad or anything but the same employee who was checking out another customer looked up at me and said “ What are you doing back here!” I just replied that I just had a few questions then she proceeded just ignored me while the other employee answered my questions. So I’m writing this review just so those who actually try to be an honest polite customer don’t have to deal with a rude employee. This is the only hallmark owned by this owner, so I will from now on only shop at Copper’s hallmark.
I felt it was very rude and uncalled for since I was calm and just came in for some questions. From the looks of the other reviews it’s a pretty...
