Sat down at this bar/restaurant after getting a massage nearby and they were really weird about not giving me alcohol because I only had a pic of my passport. I was disappointed but I certainly understood that it wasn’t the staff’s fault. The first woman (dark hair, pretty star earrings) “helping” me wasn’t very nice but was very apologetic then I saw her complaining/gossiping to coworkers or whatever (an older lady with wine red hair) & waved her over because I wanted to get food to go. But instead, the lady she was talking to came up which was definitely kinda weird (like I saw her tell the first one that I wanted something and the first one just DIPPED didn’t even look my way) then HER attitude was BAD and extremely uncomfortable. I immediately just told her “everything is fine. It really is” and tried to give her a reassuring smile but she looked back at me like she wanted to tell me leave or something. I asked if I could have the steak to go and she asked how I’d like it cooked so I said “rare”…she goes “RARE?!” & I was so confused I asked “is that alright?” and she said it was. Sitting at this dirty table that wasn’t cleaned before I sat down and looking around at this cold awkward staff…I couldn’t wait to leave. But I’d love to try the place next door! The place next door was where I actually wanted to go but they were fully booked. I didn’t even eat at the place next door and their host was 1000x friendlier than anyone at this bar. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this bar AT ALL. Food & service is NOT worth it. I never even got a water:( I probably shouldn’t have tipped but I just feel bad for hostile employees like them because I don’t know what their work environment is like and what makes them so toxic. Maybe they don’t get paid enough to care about being kind? Even though I wouldn’t recommend this bar in particular, the restaurant across from it was stunning with beautiful windows & I’d definitely recommend the spa down the hall(pricey but worth it). Got home & now I have to add that the steak was definitely well done instead of rare…which after the way the staff behaved seems likely to be deliberate as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if this staff also does other awful things to the food of people they didn’t like. Probably not very safe to even eat this steak…

I liked the vibe of the bar (in a hotel) but I did think the drinks were slightly overpriced. I really enjoyed my cucumber and jalapeño margarita but $16 seems excessive for such a small drink. My friend ordered a house marg and it was extremely sour. She politely told the bartender and the bartender added agave. This helped a little but the drink still wasn’t incredible for what we were paying. When the bartender asked if it was better, we asked if she could get what I was having, and we appreciated her making another drink. We didn’t order food but it looked good from what people were ordering around us. Cool spot but just think the prices are a bit high.

Made a pit stop while walking downtown. Vibe is more modern than it used to be, doesn’t really seem to fit with the atmosphere. Got the chips and guac/salsa which seemed overpriced, but it’s the Plaza 🤷🏼‍♂️. The guac was too spicy for my kiddo to eat and rightfully so as it had quite the heat. The salsa was handily the worst I’ve had in NM in 40 years. It tasted like bleachy tomatoes and was the consistency of watery cocktail sauce while the guac was chunky but tasted like jalapeños and habanero and clocked in at $15. The margaritas were ok, but pricey even for the plaza. In all, I miss the old La Fonda bar. Skip this and go to Del Charro.

Very dissatisfied with the service. We arrived at 2:30 where the regular restaurant was closed so we went to the bar. It took 20 minutes to receive waters. We ordered 2 margaritas and a beer as well as nachos, chile rellanos, and steak frites. Another 15 minutes and we received 1 marg and the beer. It took 20+ minutes to flag down someone down to ask for possible chips as we were drinking on empty stomachs and food has now taken 40 ish minutes . They brought chips salsa and guacamole: we flag another person to get our other marg which finally came out (wrong). Food finally came out and was fine. The lack of communication was astonishing. As a former server I would’ve been fine if there was any communication of “hey the food wait time might be a bit long” or “how are the drinks” or “sorry about the wait can we get you anything else” but there was zero communication from our waiter. They of course charged for the chips...

Came here with my family we were visting out of state very dissapointed in regards to there service the way they treated us here they sat us down we were waiting 20 minutes for someone to take our order then a waiter came and said I will be right back we sat there another 10 minutes he never came back they were taking other people's orders serving other customers there drinks and food and kept passing bye our table and never even bothered to offer us water we felt very discriminated and humiliated here I suggest they get some people skills and learn how to treat people equally very sad to see that this still happens in today's time shouldn't be like that we got up and left the bar and complained with the hostes they didn't seem to care didn't even bother to apologize horrible service don't recommend this...
