I wanted to make sure I received my suit first before making this review. After my experience here I now understand why Jos A Banks went bankrupt and are closing half of their stores. Let me say that I visited their store 4 different times during the process of getting my suit from start to finish. My friend was getting married and registered all of the groomsmen to get custom fitted suits to certain specs inside their system. I called the store the day before I was to arrive to better understand the process and see what I needed to bring with me, if anything. A nice lady answered the phone and was able to answer all of my questions. She even asked for the Grooms name and was able to find the suit order that I was listed on and told me to come in whenever and they would assist me. I show up and the guy who helped me was probably the worst customer service employee I've ever dealt with. It started off with him telling me that the order wasn't in the system. I tried giving him the Grooms name as I did before to the lady and he told me I'm wrong, that's not how they search for it, I don't understand the system...We bickered back and forth for a few minutes before the same lady who I presumed answered the phone the day prior came over and found my order in less that 20 seconds. His face dropped and he was full of embarrassment and rage. From then on there he made it a point to just show me how little I knew about suits. Talked to me as if I was the dumbest person to ever use their Savannah location. They ended up charging me for things they shouldn't have on the second time I was there. They called me weeks later after the fittings to say it was ready for pick up, but when I arrived they said it wasn't there. I ended up having the suit just be mailed to me and it got to my house THE DAY BEFORE I left for the wedding. There is one nice black lady in there and another younger white guy who was helpful, other people just seem pretentious and I don't fully understand it. I'd go somewhere else because the whole back and forth between trips were stressful, un-needed, and frivolous at best.
Edit: Corporate and the Store Manager both reached out to me. Their response was swift and unexpected. I always appreciate when higher leadership makes an effort and cares about the final product and...
Read moreWe stopped in to meet with the Jacksonville Location to create the groomsmen profile and pick the items we needed for our wedding. My husband went back to the Savannah location to be fitted and found out that everything that was put into the system was wrong. We easily corrected it. Soon after that, they called to say they didn’t have “matte shoes” that we needed to pick something else. We never picked matte shoes… the guys wanted the gloss. Again, another easy fix but like come on, we just fixed everything. Fast forward to right before the wedding, my husband picked up his suit rental to find out he had a neck tie and they had all requested bow ties. He was the only one who received a neck tie. The wedding was in two days and they didn’t have one in store so they overnight shipped the bow tie to the hotel where we were getting married. HE RECEIVED ANOTHER NECK TIE…… At this point, like how many times can you mess up? Our ring bearer is three, was fitted and received his suit about 6 times bigger… in which he had to go elsewhere to get a suit in such a short time. This is the most unprofessional, unorganized business I’ve ever encountered. I called to express my frustration in the most polite way that they had messed up countless times, we’ve been patient but now.. we had to run out on our wedding day to get a bow tie from a third party location because you simply can not follow instructions from the groomsmen you work with. I will never recommend working with this business for your wedding. Each of our groomsmen had a chaotic experience. I will be their worst public relations nightmare from here on out in the way the manager responded through the customer service to the many mistakes of their employees... Simply, they...
Read moreI have always trusted my Business with Joseph A. Bank for my fashion needs for special events and so forth. I have a Wedding to attend next Month so I went in to get that taken care of. I walked in and looked around and was finally greeted Ms. Bernadette within 10 minutes of me being in the store. She then sat on the phone for another 10 mins before actually coming to help me, which is fine, I understand operations have consolidated in retail stores so I do understand the wearing of multiple hats. I saw a shirt I liked and asked her if they made it in my size, she swore that they didn’t because it was a 1905. But then I go online and find the shirt in my size, then we go looking for Blazers, she sends me to stroll throughout the whole store to look at 1000 Blazers. I find one and she says there’s no tag so I couldn’t have that one so I have to keep looking. She also tells me it was just a custom made Blazer that was returned and put back on the rack, I then go online and find that same Blazer. So I gave her the SKU, so she could tag it off. It’s almost like she kept trying to make excuses to not help and send me in my way, so I left and went to Men’s wear house and spent $1000 with the kind gentleman there. He qualified my needs and made it happen. Ms. Bernadette maybe a nice lady I have no doubt about that, but she should not be working there! Guys like me depend on stores like that for service and to make the shopping experience stress...
