Terrible Customer Service!!! Buyer beware of up-charges and lack of knowledge by the sales rep.
I purchased a pair of Bang and Olufsen speakers as part of a new build house plan. My final plan is more extensive, but I wanted to try out a small portion first. I was told by the sales rep that my temporary setup would require an interface costing around $1100. I purchased it on their recommendation and then discovered a week later the speakers could connect wirelessly via apple airplay. When I reached out to the sales rep, he said he was unaware of this feature and there’s a strict 3 day return policy (which was never mentioned before and contrary to their written policy). Only 7 days had passed at that time and I had absolutely no use for the interface now or in the future. I only purchased it because they said it was required. To make matters worse, I received nothing but grief from that point on. From a B&O knowledge and customer service perspective, I expect better when you pay these prices. But if you don't mind paying thousands to receive mediocre advice and terrible customer service, then Watt Integration is for you!
To be clear, I love Bang and Olufsen products, but I will never purchase anything from Watt Integration again. Here are a few examples of the grief I received:
I had a minor issue during installation which could have been avoided if the salesman answered my questions accurately (feedback from unshielded cables). I don't mind troubleshooting, but they blamed me for not paying for installation when I asked to return the interface. I’m an electrical engineer with a lifetime of being an audio nerd. I’m fully capable of installing bookshelf speakers.
When the salesmen and I loaded up my car after the purchase, I realized the box to the interface had been opened. When I asked why, the salesmen said only the outer box was opened but the inner was sealed. When I arrived home I realized that was not true. I didn't mind, but when I brought it up later with the manager, she accused me of lying. I paid for a new product and for some reason it had been opened. I really don't appreciate being called a liar.
They also said using Apple TV is not a recommended setup to connect to a TV. B&O clearly licensed with Apple to offer Airplay 2 as an input. Apple TV works great with Airplay 2. It might not be the preferred setup for everyone (do your own research), but it works for me temporarily and it definitely doesn't provide justification to reject a return.
Eventually, after many phone calls and a lot of frustration, the company agreed to “work with me” and charge a 20% restocking fee. That happens to be the exact return policy written on my receipt (20% restocking and no mention of a 3 day limit). So in the end, they didn't work with me at all and I paid a penalty for receiving bad advice. Please shop elsewhere if you can. B&O products are amazing but I’m sad this is the only showroom west of the...
Read moreHands down the best electricians and all home audio company I’ve worked with and I’ve built over ten homes in the valley. They did a complete re-wire of my Paradise Valley remodel as well as installed all home audio, TV’s, camera’s, ect. Communication is very good and timely, quotes are reasonable, and they stand behind their product. They don’t “sell you”, they give you what fits you and your budget. Above all else, I called with an issue at 4:30PM on a Friday and Bryan Watt was at our house dealing with it. And the issue wasn’t...
