This is a small-ish shop in Pikes Place Market with about 8 to 10k records. Staff was inert, which is not bad, and it has a view of the water. But the only reason I could think of why it would be called Holy Cow is because of the prices. I buy and records all over the world and, other than ebay nuts and antique stores, the records selling here, in my opinion, are marked up to 5 to 10x their fair market/historical sales value. My opinion is based on discogs and personal experience. I visit 2 to 3 record stores a week around where I live, often the same one, but I spend maybe an hour or two digging and I see thousands of prices on different records. I did find some fair prices in the Jazz section of Holy Cow, but in the rock section I found multiple mass pressed VG rock titles from the 70s and 80s that would normally sell for 3 or 5 bucks priced at 25 or 26 bucks. The only reason I can think of is that they must be trying to hook someone who thinks they have struck gold by finding their long lost Elton John album from high school that might never turn up again. All due respect...

Miles was kind & attentive. We had a good musical conversation. He helped me find an obscure YMO record. I was ecstatic! Thankful for this hidden 💎 record store & will return in the...

I would say 90% of the records are very over priced but I found a couple of hidden gems. I asked the employee for a very obscure band and his eyes lit up and immediately walked over to a small bin and said “I’m pretty sure I have one, if I do, it’ll be in here.” Sure enough...
