Itโ€™s difficult writing a negative review for a small business, but the truth needs to be told.

Starting with the positive - the food was great.

Unfortunately thatโ€™s where the positives end.

We arrived 20 minutes prior to 3:00pm and arrived just before 3:00pm smoking a cigarette.

He called us over to the road side of the sidewalk where he checked us in whilst still smoking and blowing smoke in our general direction.

Seven of the group of 12 were there and he proceeded to tell us that he had been slapped today and wasnโ€™t quite right. He also said that we had to depart on time and was abrupt and demeaning in the way he talked to the group when they were all there.

This abrupt and demeaning way of talking to us continued at various times throughout the tour. He was also rude in the way he spoke to members of the public when he wanted window space, floor space etc for the tour group.

He was very difficult to hear, particularly when standing roadside with passing vehicles and would just tell us to move closer - something none us wanted to do with his demeanour and cigarette smell.

At one point during the tour he mentioned he had recently been hit by a car and was therefore again apologetic for his demeanour and not being โ€˜all thereโ€™.

These โ€˜apologiesโ€™ continued throughout the tour at nearly every stop.

During the truffle stop, he went to the bathroom and when he came back he told one of the tour group that he had been accosted by someone and needed some extra time before continuing.

During the second hour, he mentioned at least six times, that I counted, that he was losing his voice and probably wouldnโ€™t be able to continue.

There were lots of mumblings within the group right from the very start and one party of six left during the second hour.

I have been on a number of food tours around the world and unfortunately this was the worst, solely based on the โ€˜chefโ€™ guide.

After the tour concluded and had left, the remaining six of us had a chat about the tour. One of the ladies said this was the third time she had been on this tour and it was extremely poor compared to the previous two with other โ€˜chefโ€™ guides.

Unfortunately this one employee has not been a good face of your business and definitely didnโ€™t โ€œinspire...

Eat Seattle was my 1st ever Foodie Tour and boy were my tummy & tastebuds satified!๐Ÿ˜‹ Our Group of 8 was talentedly led by CHeF EriC who named our group #TeamEric. Our 2.30 hour tour, whose duration was extended by our gracious tourguide pastry/bread chef, included 10 delectable samples from local eateries located in the charming Pike St Market Place. From a delicious thick, warm Mocha slightly tainted with peppermint served with a piece of dark chocolate as a starter, CHeF EriC went on to treat our tastesbuds with homemade flagship mac & cheese peppered penne; real greek yogurt with a berry sauce; marketplace new england clam chowder that was definately NOT stingy with the fresh clams; BBQ pork on coleslaw; famous sausage; perfectly grilled salmon, chocolate cherries, honest bisquits, and closed off with a lesson on the cacao bean and how its grown and a warm cookie. The tour was not just about the food, but CheF Eric made it a point to breakfown some funfacts on the history of the local area and how the locale and small businesses came to be. I commend CHeF EriC for his well-rounded knowledge of many aspects and felt welcomed by his friendliness. I recommend this to anyone who loves good local food visiting Seattle. Bundle up if u r in Seattle during Winter and stay dry! 2 ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Œ.

My wife and I recently embarked on the 2-hour Pike Place Market Tasting tour hosted by Eat Seattle, and what an adventure it was! Our tour guide, Scott, was not only an expert on the local culinary scene but also a delightful companion through this rustic market.

The tour provided a perfect blend of history, culture, and, most importantly, taste. From the moment we met at Simply Seattle, the energy was vibrant and exciting. As promised, the tour was fast-paced, but it never felt rushed. Rather, it was a thrilling exploration of one of Seattleโ€™s most celebrated culinary landmarks.

We were treated to a variety of tastings, ranging from freshly made cheddar cheese to delicious pastries, all handpicked by chefs of the market. The insider perspective on where chefs shop and the artisans behind the food scene gave us a deep appreciation for the small businesses that make Seattleโ€™s culinary landscape so rich and diverse.

Whether youโ€™re a seasoned foodie or new to Seattle, this tour is a must-do. Itโ€™s not just a food tour; itโ€™s an immersive cultural experience that celebrates the flavors, history, and community of Pike Place Market. Our taste buds and minds were equally satisfied, and hope we can explore more with Eat Seattle.

Thank you, Scott, and the entire team at Eat Seattle, for a delectable and enlightening day out. We wholeheartedly recommend the Pike Place Market Tasting Tour to anyone looking to savor the...

Eat Seattle provided us an excellent tour of Seattleโ€™s Pike Place Market. Chef Scott took us through the market sharing a balanced presentation of the marketโ€™s story and history, information about the vendors and food we were trying, and his personal insights. Heโ€™s an energetic guide with a great personality and sense of humor. The tour took us through a good variety of the market areas and had some really good food to try. Each sample was just a taste, but there are enough of them that you should come to this tour with an appetite. As can sometimes be the case on tours like these, there were not hard-sell tactics from the sponsoring vendors. In the cases where there were presentations about the vendors or products, they were generally interesting insights as opposed to sales tactics. Our group were able to do stairs, but Chef Scott told us there were options if any could not. The two-hour tour did involve a lot of walking and there were some steep slopes and stairs. There were some breaks built into the itinerary where we could sit for our sample or a presentation. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it.
