Update: Originally gave this place 2 stars, updating to 1 due to inconsistencies in service & professionalism.
I previously had a terrible experience, but decided to give them another shot, because they are very clean & have a great polish selection. I had a full set done & although the color I originally chose wasn’t available, I was pleased with the service & decided to book a fill & pedicure for myself + a mani/pedi for my husband.
I tried to schedule for 10 am (when they open) & was told to come in at 10:30. I arrived at 10:37 & they still weren’t prepared for the scheduled services.
No one asked what type of pedicure we wanted and I had to ask for a menu and 1/4 way through & asked for their deluxe pedicure. This didn’t seem to go well with the women performing our services, they seemed annoyed & as stated earlier, were unprepared.
During my pedicure not only were the stones used for my Hot Stone massage cold, but so were the towels used to wrap around my feet. There was no massage other than the quick rub with the cold stones & I did not get the “glove treatment” I paid for with my pedicure , but they had no problem charging me full price.
The woman who did my fill seemed annoyed when she had to wait for the other woman to finish polishing my toes, because I wanted my nail polish color to match my toes. During the service she huffed, puffed, threw my hands down as she was finished one, & kept walking away to text on her phone. Upon completing the service, she immediately took off, kept texting, leaving my fingers covered in acrylic & polish. I had to put cuticle oil and clean my nails off myself
The worst part, it was absolutely empty & they all acted as if they had better things to do than perform the services we paid for.
Original Review: I'm torn between giving this place 2 or 3 stars. I've been here twice. For my first appointment I had a Delux Pedicure and full set of acrylics with Shellac added to both, I was charged $117 ($157 after tip) and it went alright. Although for the price of the delux pedicure, it felt rushed and service providers made me feel like it was an inconvenience. The second visit (about a week and half later) was for a fill and a delux pedicure with Shellac added to both also, for which I was charged $95 ($135 after tip), was a slightly worse experience than the first and took twice as long.
Pros: Their salon is really nice. I've only seen pictures of the old salon, but the newly renovated space is really pretty.
They use plastic coverings in in their pedicure bowls to keep them sanitary (although they did remove it halfway through my second pedicure).
They have a lot of good color choices (they offer regular polish, shellac, and dip).
Cons: (other than feeling like an inconvenience): Typically a new set of acrylics lasts me 3 weeks, I only got half the time before 2 nails broke. When I went in for a fill (a week and a half prior to my usual timing), I was charged for a nail fix for both nails that popped off. NEVER in my life have I been to a nail salon that charges a nail fix during a fill, especially if it's before 2 weeks after your last appointment.
I was charged for a Shellac removal on my toes on my second appointment. Now at every other place I have been before, this is usually included with the Shellac add-on price, but they may do it differently. What I didn't like about it though was that all the woman did was put cuticle remover on my toes (which is a step in any basic pedicure) and use a cuticle nipper to peel off the Shellac instead of the proper soak-off method that is recommended by most gel polish manufacturers.
My fill looks super clunky and thick, nail tips are not straight, and ONE week later nails are starting to pop off already even though I got my nails shorter.
Now I don't mind paying the extra charges, but I do believe they should give service that is worth what they are charging and should make it clear on their website or even during the appointment what additional charges they make, not after the...
Read moreI came in with some friends to get manicures and was so excited to finally get a nice manicure as I never do. I wanted to get gel but needed some tips as my nails are fragile and they break. They recommended dip, so I accepted. My nail technician started gluing the tips and filing down my nails. She filed my nails so hard that I started to feel rawness and pain on the skin of the side of my fingers. I thought maybe this is normal so I just kept quiet. She kept doing it as I winced, and next thing I know, the file has cut down pretty deep into the side of my finger. I started bleeding and she grabbed another file and kept doing it! She only stopped when there was blood on the file, and then she said sorry to me. I felt bad so I said it was fine, but it was painful. She did it to another finger as well, so I tried to flinch more this time to let her know. She did seem very apologetic and avoided the area during my appointment but it was in the worst spot. She also almost caused my nail beds to bleed with the electric filer. Initially I was like okay this is fine, as long as this looks good and I needed it for a wedding this weekend. I paid $50 and tipped almost 15% to be courteous. After I left, I kept looking at it and realized the color was darker than I thought and the nails look really lumpy and uneven in length and texture. I tried to ignore it, but honestly after three issues with my hands getting cut, and looking up the normal price for a dip, I feel like I should’ve asked for a major discount or a full refund. I feel like the technician was nice, but it was a painful, slightly disappointing experience. I am going to...
Read moreNot the best first impression for a new nail spot. The place is cute and the location is great for living in Queen Anne. However, the staff was somewhat rude and, most importantly, they were unbelievably overbooked. Myself and two friends came for a 4:30 appointment for one regular pedicure, one acrylic fill with gel, and one manicure/pedicure with gel. Granted, we did get there at 4:34, so I would expect a little bit of a pushback. However, my two friends waited about 25 minutes for their pedicures to begin - starting at 5 pm. Their water was cold but the pedicures were nice and they enjoyed them. My experience, on the other hand, was much less enjoyable. My service did not begin until 5:58, almost 1.5 hours after my scheduled appointment. During that time, they helped FIVE people with appointments later than mine before starting on my nails. Had I not been waiting for my friends to finish their appointments, I would have left. My technician also did not seem to care about doing my nails after the wait as my cuticles are a mess, the skin color polish typical for French tips is basically clear, and there’s pink polish all over my fingers. In total, we were there for two hours and forty-five minutes. I absolutely will not be returning. Being made to wait over an hour for your service to begin is unacceptable, especially when staff don’t communicate about the wait at all. I do not recommend this salon in the slightest and will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. Also, one of the ladies was walking around barefoot? All...
