My partner Diana and I visited the Savannah Bee Company store in Sedona and were blown away by the hospitality and knowledge of Adam and Monica. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with the warm aroma of honey and beeswax and shelves bursting with raw honeys, specialty spreads, beeswax candles, lotions and other treasures. They took the time to explain the unique flavors and origins of each honeyâfrom orange blossom to lavenderâand offered us samples and pairing suggestions. Monica is incredibly knowledgeable about bees and their importance to our ecosystem; she even taught us about the life cycle of the queen bee, the differences between wildflower and monofloral honeys, and how different pollens influence flavor. Adamâs enthusiasm shines through when he talks about their meads and specialty drinks. The tasting bar is a must: on our first visit he walked us through a flight of meadsâincluding the delicious Tupelo Honey Mead they had on tap at the momentâdescribing each oneâs origin and flavor profile like a seasoned sommelier. He also recommended food pairings and told stories about the bee farms behind each bottle. Monica made sure we were comfortable throughout, offering water, crackers, and even sharing tips on local hiking trails. Their enthusiasm and genuine care turned our trip to Sedona into an unforgettable experience.
Beyond the tastings, we loved learning about Savannah Bee Companyâs commitment to bee conservation and sustainable beekeeping. Adam and Monica explained how the company supports bee research and taught us simple things we can do at home to support pollinators. We left feeling not only well-fed but also inspired to plant more bee-friendly flowers in our garden.
We now make a point of coming in at least once a week because of the incredible deals, rotating meads on tap and the unique items that only they carry. Whether itâs an exclusive single-origin honey, a seasonal mead, handcrafted beeswax candles, or luxurious body-care products, thereâs always something special to discover. Each visit feels like catching up with friendsâAdam and Monica always remember our names and genuinely want to know how weâre doing. We always leave with smiles on our faces, new favorites in our bags and a deeper appreciation for bees. Adam and Monica truly make the Savannah Bee Company a highlight of Sedona. If youâre anywhere near the area, do yourself a favor and stop byâyou...

I want to express my deep disappointment with the service I received during my visit today, specifically due to the behavior of one of your employees. Unfortunately, I didnât catch her name, but she was a young woman with straight blonde hair, serving the paid mead tastings.
The encounter started awkwardly when she repeatedly asked where we were from. After telling her we were visiting from the Bay Area, she insisted, raising her voice to demand, âWHERE from the Bay Area?!â Her tone felt unnecessarily intrusive, leaving my group uncomfortable. While we brushed it off at the time, her demeanor only became more unsettling as the interaction continued.
What crossed the line entirely was her behavior as we were leaving. She pointed directly at me and exclaimed loudly, âPLEASE!â before pointing at her own smile and demanding, âSMILE! Itâs a NICE day.â This was not only inappropriate but completely uncalled for.
As someone navigating personal challenges and trying to enjoy a moment of peace with family, I found this interaction both triggering and deeply uncomfortable. Iâm your customer, not your puppet. Itâs not your employeeâs place to dictate how I should feel or behave. The presumption that I owe anyone a smile reflects a lack of empathy and borders on toxic positivity.
Why canât people be allowed to have a neutral or even quiet day without being judged? Why is it acceptable for an employee to make such personal, unwarranted comments? Her actions felt rude, judgmental, and incredibly out of line.
This experience left such a bad impression that I wonât be returning, nor would I recommend this business to others. If your employees cannot engage with customers respectfully and empathetically, they risk damaging...
Read moreI went in there with my fiancé on 2/13 to take a look at their products. We have been to a few of their other locations across the country and they have always had the best customer service. However, this location had to young women working, and instead of checking in on us to see if we were interested in anything, they just talked about guys their friends were seeing, and their own social plans. We had wanted to do a mead flight, and we walked over to that area and were completely ignored. When we realized that we weren't going to be assisted there, we started browsing the products in the shop. Both of your associates just stood behind their respective counters, arms crossed, and gossiping. Other than the initial forced "welcome in", we had no other interaction with them. They didn't even offer to help us.
All in all, it was a very sad experience from a company that I have grown to love. It may have been a one off, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth over...
