On 12/26/2022, I went to return a 2 items I brought for a Christmas gift to a friend. I brought from the H&M in Arundel Mills. The store was extremely crowded but I found a manager by the name of Janelle. She advised me to get in line which was to the back of the store. I told my friend to pick the correct size so we can exchange them. I stood in line patiently until it was my turn at the register. The exchange went perfectly fine. As we are heading out the door. 2 police officers approached us and stated the manager said we look suspicious. As 2 African American women in our mid 30s with winter coats on …. What would make us look suspicious? The officer checked our bags and seen we had receipts with us. They even checked with the cashier who confirmed our exchange. We were embarrassed and upset. The manager never came to apologize or anything. I have been a customer of H&M for years. I buy my family and friends gift cards from there. I get all my business clothes from there. I have never dealt with a situation where you didn’t have to do anything wrong but look suspicious or different to be accused of theft. Read moreThis H&M is hit or miss for me. Either I have a completely neutral experience or a frustrating one. Staff have been friendly and helpful on a few occasions, but a lot of the time their expression and the way they speak to you at the register makes you feel like a massive nuisance to their time as if they weren't just standing behind the counter talking to their coworker anyway. Or awkwardly standing in the changing room area with your clothes while staff walks by you, pointedly avoiding eye contact, and just having to flag someone down to ask if you can just go in or not, because some days they want to assign you a room and others they don't care.
During my last time there, I didn't want several pieces of clothing after trying them on so I put each one back on their hangers and brought them to the front of the changing room area. No one was there, so I put them on an empty space at the end of a rack. An employee finally came over and gave me a weird pained expression while looking at the clothes I was putting back.

Read moreTara showed no customer service what so ever. I had two items from the sale rack, one was for $5 and the other for $8. The $5 shirt didn't ring up for $5, but had a $5 dollar sale ticket on it. She said, this shirt isn't $5 it's 17.99 did you still want to buy it. I told her no, I wanted it for $5 because that's what it was advertised for. She showed no remorse. She then told me, I'm not saying it was you but, sometimes customers come in and change the price. Just rude. I wanted to tell her, Please rewind the cameras and you'll clearly see I picked it from the sales rack.
