Was discriminated against by restaurant staff. They are rude and not friendly. You can tell this is a common theme by their replies to poor reviews as well. My family decided to try this place out for lunch. We just moved to the area from out of state and have been trying lots of new places and spending lots of money on the island and supporting local businesses. I have never in my life been treated so horribly. We had a extra 18% charge on our bill (family of 3. Disabled Army Veteran, myself and our 7 year old son). We ordered chips and salsa, a cheeseburger and shrimp tacos. Our bill was almost $60. I asked our server (guy with curly black hair) why we were charged extra and if it was based on table size, like most places do. He stated to me that he decided to do that “based on my body language”. When I asked what he meant by that he kinda had a smirk and said that I infinite’s his questions but couldn’t tell me what questions I didn’t answer and kept saying it was based on my body language. I again asked what he was talking about and he continued to get ruder by trying to walk away from our table. He refused to give me clarification. When we were leaving I tried speaking with a manger at the front as I was upset that I was being discriminated against. She refused to listen because that same waiter came up and told her to not listen to us. We were eventually kicked out of the restaurant and was told we were being rude even thought my family and I were having a perfect day up until this moment. This experience was one I won’t forget and will be sure to share to everyone I know and not recommend this establishment restaurant or water...
Read moreI am quite against hating a business, hence going for 2 stars, because of my experience. I was in South Padre celebrating a special weekend, and wanted to parasail with my daughter, it would've been her first time. I booked tickets from Parrot Eyes for Saturday afternoon. I was told it wasn't safe as it was windy, and I was moved to Sunday morning. On Sunday we were taken mid water, and after waiting and wasting 1.5 hours, for which we had to postpone our dolphin watch tour and threw off our entire schedule, we were told it's unsafe. On top of it the way we were spoken to was extremely unprofessional and rude at the launchpad by the 'captain'. Again, my problem is not that our flight was cancelled, as I understand if it's not safe, it's just not worth the risk. The issue was how the entire experience turned out for me and my family. UPDATE: Based on the response from the owner/captain, I had to update my review. I am not fortunate that I got my refund, that was my right. And I was never pushy, was defininitely upset, because we had to waste our time to be notified as no fly. In future try to be respectful of time, and if there is even a 1% chance of flight cancelation, just say 'plain no' upfront. I was very clear about the situation and never intended to risk anyone, but would've appreciated a denial at 11 AM, instead of 12:30 PM. Please understand the emotion...
Read moreUnless you are a local from the Island/Port Isabel or a an actual tourist from out of the Valley, expect to be treated as an outsider. My group which consisted of about 8 couples asked for separate checks (3 to be exact) and they refused. When I complained and said something to the effect that there was no reason to refuse this request and I also mentioned the differential treatment they provide Valley locals, the waiter pretty much said the restaurant did not need our business to survive. On another occasion, a friend of mine and his family and friends from Chicago came down to eat at this restaurant, they requested separate checks (6 different checks) the waiter gladly obliged. Do better Parrot Eyes! Treat your Valley locals with respect. We keep your businesses going during the off season.
In response to the response, this happened a year ago. Have a...
