I dont know where to begin, but ill start with the good. Our waitress and the musician are the only good things good about this restaurant. Our waitress provided great hospitality, despite the busy day & big ticket full of people. The musician provided great hospitality proving nice jammy jamz and occasionally talking to guests. Thats the only good things I can really say. Oh, actually the cheesy garlic bread was quite tasty, wasnt amazing, but it was something I actually enjoyed. Now, to the bad. Well, the pizza was just blatantly mediocre. Thats just being nice though. i really hate to say that you might be better off getting a frozen digiorno pizza from H-E-B, Walmart, whatever. It was obviously rushed, which i can understand why, but come on, serve people good pizza. The crust tasted close to cardboard, the sauce was decent, and the cheese... it was what you'd expect I guess. I used to think it would be hard to mess up pizza, but this joint proved me dead wrong. this place has a whole lot of potential they have plenty of demand and enough travellers to visit and dine in to anything they find convenient, which i guess they can live off of. In the famous words of S. Truett Cathy, "Food is essential to life; therefore, make it GOOD." This place has the potential to make outstanding pizza, they just need to focus of increasing the quality of food thats provided to customers. No one should have to be provided frozen cardboard pizza at a restaurant. That's just pathetic. Anyways, to that waitress and musician, you two are amazing and thank you for making parts if this restaurant nice. People like you is what helps restaurants going down...
Read moreLooking at the reviews, my husband and I thought this would be a nice hole in the wall yummy pizzeria. The service was great, very friendly. The atmosphere, cute, hole in the wall. But the food and prices? A rip off!
We ordered tator tots with cheese for our daughter, it definitely looked like a couple slices of American sliced cheese on most likely frozen tator tots, which, those were $4 something so we weren't upset about it.
The pizza however, we couldn't belive. It was $17 for a medium BBQ beef pizza. We thought this must be pretty good and fresh for a local place. Delivery pizza is just a few bucks less usually.
It came out and it was unbelievable. It was loaded with cheese (and not the good way). I don't know what kind of beef it had on it, it almost looked sliced? The mushrooms that we asked to be added looked canned,(the texture was very rubbery). The cheese pretty sure it was a ton of sliced cheese placed on top that slipped off as you took out a slice. The crust was like "homey," which is fine but not something I would pay close to $20 for if I can make it at home myself with staple ingredients. The bbq sauce was the most "okay" part of it.
If I haaaaad to have this pizza I would pay no more than $10 for it. Along with two beers and a soda, our bill was $42. It was not worth it at all. Would have rather gone for fast food for $20-25 to feed all three of us. Or, pay the $42 for a nice meal!
This was our first and last visit, please work on your recipes or lower your prices! Not fair to anyone who wants...
Read moreFoods ok & was quickly served. As you read reviews owner does come off a bit rude. It's a tourist town & if it's a "local fave" he needs to remember that not everyone is a local. We walked in to a performer swallowing a sword. We tried not to block others view at the same time figure out if we sat ourselves or wait for a host. 3 different employees looked at us and did not even smile our way. Then what I am assuming is the owner snapped at us to shut the door. "He's paying for air conditioning for inside". I had to stop someone and ask if we sat ourselves etc. That employee was friendly and helpful. AC man greets us at our table and one of our party asks about the tater kegs advertised on a table display. He tells us "I think it explains it to you" . And no it didnt. It states that its stuffed but does not tell you what the stuffing is. You are given plastic solo cups to drink out of, if you have several drinking the same thing they bring you a pitcher of beverage but an even smaller cup to drink out of. Which resulted in the children at the table having larger drink cups then the adults. Fried mushrooms were frozen. Side salad was an oval plate with iceberg lettuce,1 thin slice of tomato, bell pepper, and onion. Pizza is frozen dough with toppings and cheese on top. Nothing to write home about or to encourage a second trip. . Yes we still ate there. We were on a time schedule and couldn't spare the extra time to go elsewhere. Next time we go to SPI pizza night will result...
