Reaching a little on 4 star, but the flavors were on the money. Please read past the bad because there is potential and the flavors are on the money. There is a lot more good than bad anyways. I think the problem is that when I go to Indian restaurants it seems that they won't throw food out if it is lower quality, and buffets kill food. Even in the pic the palak paneer is brown. Just use smaller pans! Don't put so much in there. The rice was a little overcooked, but as I ordered delivery so I don't know how they store that. Also, the naan was too heavy. It didn't seem to have ridsen enough, and it seemed overworked, bringing out all is those glutens. Chewy... Now that was all of the bad. It might seem like a lot, but other than the naan, those things happen, and I wouldn't let it stop you. I would actually encourage you to eat here, and let them know what you think, but please, always compliment more than complain. Day 3 hours things and then day one thing that you would like to see improved. No one wants to work 14 hours and hear complaints, and that is the life, especially if a chef owned or family owned restaurant, and you will get better results that way. You want a cherry to see you and smile, if he doesn't, with on that (or eat somewhere else!) As for the different curry( by that I mean sauces, not just the yellow stuff) they all seemed right on point. The floral scents of the cardamon, the earthy cumin, everything was in balance. Everything was ordered hot, and while the lady eating it thought that it was a little too hot, I thought it was perfect. It was hot, but it was the kind of hot that slows you down, and forces you to enjoy it more, not the hot that peels the paint off of walls! If you are sensitive, order down, but if you like heat, go for it. I don't think I would go beyond spicy. If you tell them to really heat it up, you had better be prepared. All in all, it was really good. I am ordering for the second night in a row. I have been deprived of an Indian restaurant for too long. I think that they will iron those little issues it anyways. I wonder if they have those little balls soaked in rose water syrup? Man those are good. I think I need to go take a sip of straight insulin just...
Read moreTried this location for the first time on Mother’s Day! It was absolutely delicious. I’ve had authentic Indian food growing up, and this little mom pop shop is doing it right! It was $18.99 per person for all you can eat. We didn’t order any additional drinks except for water. One man, presumably the owner, was checking us in and bringing us drinks. You do pay upfront, which is out of the ordinary for me, but when I realized it was only one person managing front of house, it made more sense. He was very attentive, and there were several families there on Mother’s Day.
For food, they had all the classics! My favorite was the Chicken Tikki Masala. The naan was hot and buttery. You have to try to pizza, super tasty and cheesy! And omg, home-made samosas! Some of the best, I’ve ever had. I would go back just for those! They also had an array of sauces and even desserts! I wish they had home-made lassi. I would pay a premium to have a mango lassi during my meal. I also wish they had the ability to make certain dishes extra spicy! Since it’s a buffet, the flavor was still amazing while trying to satisfy most palates.
I’ve noticed that atmosphere score has gotten lower ratings. It’s definitely far from fine dining. It reminded me of those little take out shops where the food is just amazing, but I wouldn’t expect a marriage proposal here. However, with the fact that this is a small mom pop restaurant, the atmosphere gets a 4/5 for me. They were clean, attentive, and the general feel was overall very respectable. I did wish they had the air conditioner running as my husband was sweating while trying this new cuisine! I’m also looking forward to try their take out option!
If you are on the fence, please give this location a try! I love supporting our local businesses, and this restaurant deserves more recognition for its amazing food...
Read moreAlright, trying something new here! I've never had Indian food and my buddy @verityyata decided enough is enough so Indian for lunch it is!!😅 @786kebab is located in Buford right beside The Mall of Georgia. I was actually nervous on my way there because I had no clue what to expect and I don't do so well with spicy food and I KNOW Verity would be like "don't be a wuss!!" 🤣 So the way this place is set up is kind of like a Golden Corral... You walk in to a table then you go grab your plate and fill it up! They have pictures of each serving right above with the spice level which is helpful, I didn't grab anything too spicy. If I remember correctly, I grabbed the following: DAL MAKHNI (lentils), YELLOW & WHITE RICE, CHICKEN TANDOORI, PESHAWARI KEBAB (ground chicken), BUTTER CHICKEN (my favorite), GULAB JAMUN (think of a donut dunked into water....). My favorite was most definitely the rice and butter chicken. Everything else was OK but if I'm being honest I don't think I'm a huge fan of the type of flavors it brings in, although Verity said it's my fault because I had the ball looking thing in with my main plate and that was supposed to be dessert 😅 I didn't know!! All I know is I can finally say I've had Indian food and if I ever go eat it again, I'll be asking for butter chicken! 🤤 Verity, thank you for showing me the way!!! 😂🙌 Soon you can check out my YouTube channel for a quick video on this spot 🏍️
