I have been working at Longhorn Steakhouse for quite some time now, and I'm sad to say that my experience has been incredibly frustrating due to the ineptitude of our general manager, Julio. I feel compelled to share a negative review of the restaurant, highlighting several key issues that have been plaguing our establishment:
Poor Hygiene Practices: The kitchen utensils used for cooking are rarely cleaned, and even the cutlery provided to customers is not properly sanitized. This lack of attention to cleanliness raises serious concerns about the overall hygiene standards of the restaurant.
Neglectful Management Style: Rather than being proactive and attentive, Julio constantly delegates his responsibilities to the employees and hardly pays attention to their concerns. It is disheartening to see a manager who consistently shirks their duties.
Disrespectful Behavior: Julio has repeatedly disrespected his employees with inappropriate and sarcastic responses. He lacks patience, carries an air of superiority, and acts condescendingly towards others. This kind of behavior creates a hostile and demotivating work environment.
Inadequate Conflict Resolution: The general manager fails to address conflicts effectively between employees, causing tension and disharmony among the staff. This lack of intervention only exacerbates the issues within the workplace.
Insufficient Working Hours: Regular employees are not receiving enough working hours as the management constantly hires new staff. This unfair practice not only affects the financial stability of the employees but also hampers their overall job satisfaction.
Infestation Problems: Due to inadequate cleaning behind the machines, insects such as cockroaches, flies, and spiders have infested our kitchen. It is unsanitary and demonstrates a lack of care towards maintaining a clean and pest-free environment.
Insects in the Refrigerator: Insects have also been found in the refrigerator where the food is stored. This poses serious health risks and further highlights the overall lack of cleanliness and hygiene within the restaurant.
Unjust Terminations: Employees have been unfairly dismissed by Julio, who seems to have a personal vendetta against certain individuals. Even the smallest, justified mistakes result in severe consequences for the employees, which is both unjust and demotivating.
Additionally, I'd like to highlight the lack of communication among the managers at Longhorn Steakhouse. It is evident that they contradict each other by implementing different protocols depending on who is working on any given day. Anthony, the youngest manager, has expressed his frustration multiple times, stating that he feels unheard by the rest of the management team. He often complains about the lack of communication, which has led to coordination problems and inconsistencies in the restaurant's operations. This lack of cohesion among the managers further adds to the overall frustration and inefficiency within the establishment
Despite the challenges we face, I would like to express gratitude to the hardworking majority of the staff who continue to give their best under these circumstances. I also want to give credit to the previous general manager, Nick Padilla, who was an exceptional leader and created a positive work environment during his tenure.
It is my hope that this review sheds light on the numerous issues we face at Longhorn Steakhouse and prompts necessary changes to improve the overall experience for both employees and customers.

Read moreVery disappointing. Years ago when I moved to Tallahassee FL you could find me at the Longhorn Steakhouse at least twice a month. When I saw that they had followed me back home to Austin I was very excited to try them out. Unfortunately, htey have been a huge disappointment.
I should say that the service was friendly and the restaurant is spotless, but the food was terrible. To start off with our waiter had no idea of the beers on draft or the specials of the day, for a steak and beer snob that was a red flag. We started with started with some Western Cheese Fries, which were soggy fries under incompletely melted cheese with what looked like bacon bits drizzled on the edges. If that doesn't sound appetizing, don't worry - neither were the fries.
Now we had ordered some salads as well and they came soon after the fries (we seemed back on track at this point), but literally 30 seconds after the salads came a different server arrived with our entrees and asked if we "were still working on those salads or should he take them away?". So we ate our salads while our steaks sat on the table getting cold.
Finally, the steaks: I cannot say if it was the extra 10 minutes sitting out on its own in the open air or just the poor steak quality, but the Flo's Filet was terrible. The meat was rough and the seasoning limited to the surface. All in all, a huge wast of money.
In a Nutshell: If you like paying premium prices to eat food that tastes like it was made at the airport "Chilis2Go" - this is the steak house for you!

Read moreUnfortunate we didn't have a wonderful experience like some others. My family was visiting from Florida and wanted so bad to eat a good steak from Texas. We decided to visit Longhorn steakhouse in Austin. My daughter verify if we needed reservations they said no. We were waiting for about 45 minutes obviously we understood was Father's day. Very busy day. Suddenly my sister noticed people coming in checking in passing through. My sister decided to check on the front and found out what was going on. The front desk apologize and finally call us to a table. When we got our Steak they were cold. My daughter order mushrooms that were also cold. The server apolize and took them back. She bring another order very steamy hot , but with a big surprise of a small hair in it. My daughter didn't wanted to bring this to the attention but was not right that we had to put up with such discusting situation. The server apologize, took the mushrooms and left. The manager came and simply gave us a discount ticket for a free appetizer. My brother spend over $275.00 not counting the tip for for the server. I felt very disappointed with the way the manager handle this serious issue. A hair from whoever knows where. Not an attempt to a discount at least to the whole ticket specially that my brother and my sister are not from Texas there were just visiting. The star rating is to the wonderful server but the steakhouse was a disaster....
