Hillsborough County Courthouse — Local services in Tampa

On Thursday 09/19/2024, I went to this courthouse in order to start a legal family process. The security check-in was very fast, easy and professional. When I get to the second floor. The Spanish lady Mrs. Arely at the front desk window was very professional, polite, and helpful. She checked all my file, and she recommended me to refile it in the right way. In the very beginning, I started to get frustrated, because I do not know where to start or how to do it. Suddenly, Mrs. Beyonce came out from her station at window #4. She was not only friendly but also highly skilled, polite, helpful, and very professional. She assisted me in organizing all my documents. She was amazing employee that loves her job very well. She helped me step by step until the end. I really appreciate you Mrs. Beyonce, I pray that God blesses you and your family, for all your hard work and help you are providing to customers during all day long. Also, I want to thank Mr. Anthony, he did a wonderful job. I was completely impressed with their professionalism and customer service.

All the stuff were very friendly, helpful, answered all my questions, and they provided me with very good information and support.

Also, the place is very clean, and organized.

For the deputy that killed on a teen and is only suspended for five days deserves the death penalty or locked up for years!!!!!! because if it was anybody else you know right damn right well that they will be locked up in jail for years so how is it any different that a deputy kills the teen and only gets five days suspension how is that teaching and anybody from right over wrong? how is that teaching anybody you do the crime, you do the time? Stop treating the sheriff force and many more different from us regular humans. Because if I was the parent of that teen exactly what the parents said five days is not enough, you need to learn what your actions did. YOU DO THE CRIME, YOU DO THE TIME!

That to me is almost like saying it’s ok if you do it again since you’re with the police force. It’s okay do to it again. That’s wrong that’s not teaching the kids right from wrong. And you guys wonder why people don’t respect the force because you pretty much are praising them when they do wrong. They aren’t learning from their actions.

Hope you guys do the right thing he loses his job. Gets sent to jail for a few years to think abut his actions because 5 days with no pay. I mean let’s keep it real. What’s that really teaching...

I’m not sure if this is a government-wide issue, but what I’ve experienced here has been completely unacceptable. In my 17 years of dealing with Hillsborough County Family Court, I’ve found the staff and process to be some of the most unprofessional and unethical I’ve ever seen. The customer service is terrible, there is little to no accountability, and it feels like the system is designed to work against you rather than help you.

Even the judges contribute to this broken system. Family court here feels less like a place to resolve issues and more like a machine that keeps families divided. It’s clear that the system is heavily biased — nearly everyone I’ve interacted with over the years, from staff to lawyers to the Florida Department of Child Support, has been female. In nearly two decades, I have not once spoken to a man within this system. It feels designed to cripple fathers rather than bring families together, which should be the true goal of family court.
