I still canât believe what happened today, and completely in shock at the horrible experience we had. We went to this store today because the manager Lee had set some ammo aside for us to purchase since our normal gun store was out of it. Lee told us to just come in the store and tell the employees he set aside the ammo for us in the gun room since he would be off for the day when we came in. We entered the store and walked up to the fold up table they have set up and was stopped by Justin. Justin asked what we were doing at the store and my husband told him that Lee had set aside some ammo for us to purchase today. Immediately Justin flew off the handle telling us Lee wasnât there today and how is he supposed to know where the ammo is. My husband stayed calm despite Justinâs aggressive attitude and explained to Justin what Lee had told us. Justin then preceded to yell even louder at us, at this point heâs flaring open his arms at us as heâs yelling at us, telling us he canât leave the front of the store, which we never asked him to do, and what did we expect him to do waste his time going through the gun room just for us? We stood there in shock, and told him thereâs absolutely no reason to be aggressive with us like this. He continued to talk over us and spoke to us disrespectfully. Once he saw my husband becoming so upset to the point that he was shaking because of how rude Justin was being to us FOR NO REASON then all of a sudden Justin said oh yeah I think I may have seen something back in the gun room when I walked by this morning. He then told us to go to the ammo counter. There was no reason for him to treat us the way he did. He could of simply just greeted us, found out what we were in for and directed us to the ammo counter and all of this would of been avoided. He was so loud and rude to us that people in the store had turned around to watch him yell at us, and the Cashier Ken asked him what was going on. His actions speak volumes in how much he doesnât value the customers of Turners. Throughout our visit I continuously watched him disrespect customers as they entered the store and belittle them. I could look past the dirty store, lack of inventory and the ammo employee getting our info wrong on all the paperwork if the customer service was outstanding, but sadly this will be the last time Turners ever gets another one of my hard earned pennies. I will gladly wait in line five hours out front of Ammo Bros before I ever spend another 30mins in this Turners store and thatâs all because of...

Waited a little while to be helped, but it was well worth it. A lot of people were buying guns â not sure why, but it was busy. Despite the crowd, one of the staff noticed me eyeing the Spyderco knives. He immediately stopped what he was doing, came over, and asked, âHey man, do you just want a knife?â I said yes, and he said, âI got you.â
He showed me two models I had been considering: a stainless Delica and the Emerson Endura (the one pictured). I passed on the Delica mainly due to traction issues â although you could easily fix that with some skateboard tape. Honestly, I was already leaning toward getting an Emerson Commander someday, but those can get pretty pricey, and the titanium liner lock strength is debatable.
This Emerson Endura, though, was right around $110 â a very good price compared to everywhere else (KnifeWorks, Blade HQ, KnifeCenter, Smoky Mountain Knife Works, you name it). I wasnât sitting there being âthat guyâ price-checking on my phone either â I just know knife prices well.
Now, not every brand is priced equally here. Their CRKT, Gerber, and some Kershaw models run a bit high. But when you get into Benchmade, Zero Tolerance, and Spyderco⌠Their prices are very competitive.
My advice: Save up a little and shoot for a knife above the $100 threshold if you can. There are still solid options below that, like the Spyderco Tenacious around $65. But if youâre going to splurge, get a Delica or Endura.
Also, side note for everyday carry: If youâre constantly using a knife, you might want to go for a Milwaukee Fastback Box Cutter or a Gerber PryBrid instead. But if you want something mainly for self-defense â as long as you maintain the factory edge or keep it razor sharp â a good pocket knife is an excellent choice.
That said, donât underestimate pepper spray. A former 20-year police veteran I met once testified to its effectiveness: ⢠First line of defense: High-lumen tactical flashlight ⢠Second: Good quality pepper spray (like Sabre Defense) ⢠Last line: You know what to do.
All in all, Turnerâs is a fantastic spot for high-quality knives. If youâre coming here, come ready. Youâll leave happy.
Thanks for reading â and have a...
Read moreI would not recommend any firearm buyers, especially first timers to do business with this place. I bought a firearm in fall of 2022 at this location since the handgun I wanted wasnât in stock anywhere else at the time. I was ok with the busy wait times and slightly higher price tags.
What I wasnât okay with were all the extra fees that they add on such as the safety demonstration and forcing you to buy a lock even though the firearm box has one. The person doing the safety demonstration didnât even use the correct caliber snap caps. This same person also didnât even give me the lock that they made me buy. Even though it was only a few dollars I decided to bite my tongue and never return. I was happy to finally have the gun that I wanted.
Fast forward to almost a year later, I get a voicemail from an employee at the store telling me I did not fill out the safe handling paperwork and had to come back to fill it out since the DOJ took notice. Now I recall signing the paperwork for the safe handling form since they literally charged me for the demonstration.
I go to the store a few days later since I live 45 minutes away. I take time out of my day to help them fix their mistake almost a year later and I just get a thank you and bye.
I hate to sound entitled but they did not offer me anything for taking up my time. It was their responsibility to make sure they had the paperwork work done correctly the first time. Iâve never had this issue with any other FFLs Iâve been to.
TLDR: They charge you extra nonsense fees and lost my paperwork, called me a year later to fill out a form. Waste of time, go to Sportsmanâs...
