The ambiance is very pleasant, inviting, family oriented, great for big parties, they offer catering for larger gatherings. When you walk in the front door you can see a lot of business owners promoting themselves which is refreshing to see because it means that they are trying to promote a tight-knit community where you support one another.
The first room that she walk into as you're passing into the dining room is a wine tasting bar. Throughout your dining experience you may see different couples of people coming in to try the wines. I took notice that these customers really enjoyed the conversations they had with the owners and family employees, and so they would sit in the dining area in order food afterwards which is not something you see very often.
My husband and I always meet very nice people with interesting stories to tell while we're sitting about 6 ft away at our dining tables. Our server, Kimberly is attentive, inviting, warm, extremely knowledgeable, and honest.
Here you will find traditional dishes, tasty food, fresh seasonal quality ingredients while supporting a Family owned business. They have amazing customer service.
The wine tasting area is doing well although it's Covid.
We ordered two Appetizers: Mushrooms Margherita bread with Marinara sauce
My first time here with my husband Kimberly had recommended we try the mushrooms on the appetizer menu. The mushrooms are so delicious and it keeps them coming back. They are cooked in a light olive oil, rosemary, minced garlic, carmelized onion, chives, possibly parmesan cheese, and lemon juice. And on our second visit here we just had to order it! Mushrooms are tender with a bite, just the way I like it.
My husband and I ordered their Margherita bread when we had inquired if they had something similar to Bruschetta. The Margherita bread was reminscent of Bruschetta and Margherita flat bread pizza. On a bed of french bread, warm fresh slice tomato, minced basil, melted Morzarella cheese top there was crumbles of fresh parmesan, with a drizzle of olive oil. On the side it was served with a saucer of Marinara sauce that was made fresh by the chef. This something I definitely would like to order again.
Our main dishes we ordered: Spaghetti and Meatballs Alfredo Pesto pasta
My husband ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs dish. The meatballs down to the sauce were packed full of amazing flavor. The owner was the only chef working that day. My husband said this is unlike any spaghetti has had before and it's one of the best spaghetti dishes he's had within two years. The meat was very tender, sweetened tomato sauce, rich in color. The Marinara sauce had fresh diced tomatoes, tomatoes sauce, fennel seeds and other ingredients I couldn't put my finger on. The spaghetti sauce is also served with the margherita bread as a dipping sauce.
My Alfredo Pesto pasta dish was very refreshing. I can honestly say I haven't had anything like it but I love Alfredo pasta and I love pesto sauce so I thought why not have these two worlds combine. The noodles were soft, al dente. When I expressed my concern for such a strong taste of pesto in the dish Kimberly had asked the chef to add a bit less than regular. She directly explained to me how the Alfredo Pesto Pasta has heavy whipping cream in the creamy cheese sauce that will cancel out any bitter taste from the sweet basil or regular basil. She did notify me that the basil is seasonal ingredients so depending on what time of year it is they will have sweet basil or regular basil. They do not use any cheese powders. Only fresh cheese.
The reheated leftovers from Pangea Restaurant still taste delicious!
Pangea is a Greek and Italian family owned business. They treat veterans very well. Their infectious charm and great quality ingredients, made-to-order food keeps you coming back. They serve a large diverse crowd of customers, it's liked by many. I can't wait to go back and dine here. My husband and I are definitely...
Read moreIf you want real honest opinion keep reading, it's long, but detailed. I am actually greek and seeing the 4.8 stars the trestaurant has, i definitely needed to try it! We went on Monday, lunch time. There were only 2 other tables when we arrived. I saw the augolemono on the menu and it grapped my attention right away. I asked the server, if this is actually greek made with geeek seasoning and the answer I got was, everything is made in house, everything Greek on the menu is actually Greek and everything Italian on the menu is pure Italian as well. Reading the menu, I decided to order a greek Horiatiki salad and my husband ordered the guro platter! The server said the order will take a short wait cause everything is made to order. Couple minutes later the food made it to our table ( so not at all a wait) and not really made to order.. The server brought our food, she placed my salad first and then my husband's plate. The minute she placed my salad in front of me, I could see a hair on the side on the plate, she was talking to my husband but I immediately interrupted her and told her about the hair. Her first response was where is that?? I showed her and she said I will have the kitchen replace that for you. At that time, I asked for my order to be canceled. The salad was not even big enough for the price tag of $13. Also the feta was crumpled vs a whole feta slice that actuall Greek food should have. My husband's platter has the gyro, which was more like a very fatty patty and not a thin sliced meat like it should be. Also it tasted like old fatty food when u leave in the fridge for a couple of days. The salad that was included with his platter, tasted like it been cut the day before. The crumbles of the feta did not taste like an authentic greek feta like tha catalog claims. The gyro, was served with white rice which was mushy and weird flavor like it's cooked with a soup base. Overall, the food felt like a poor quality fast food and not a sit in restaurant. Lets assume its fast food , i would still not eat there again and definitely do...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I decided to try this place on a whim because of the high ratings. Let me start out by saying, the amount of 5 star ratings for this restaurant are very suspect considering how empty it was! Check the location of the other reviewers and you'll find many of them don't live anywhere near the place! We came at about 6pm on a Saturday, which should be a prime time for a restaurant, but we were the only customers there! The food is frozen and microwaved, not fresh, and the service (especially considering we were the only customers) was mediocre and felt unprofessional. We were waiting a long time for the bill while the whole staff were chatting by the bar after making our food. Deplorable! I tipped out of courtesy (I always tip), but once we got home we both had bad stomach aches and gas from the food unlike any other restaurant I've been to! Wish I hadn't tipped, and I never do this, but I would have walked out of this place without paying if I knew how it would make my stomach feel. To top off all of this, it is very overpriced. 1 star across the board. If the owner or staff read this, throw out your frozen old food, simplify your menu, and hire staff that actually cares. This restaurant has been one of the worst I've ever been to, akin to a restaurant off the show Kitchen Nightmares. STAY AWAY!!!
Edit: Upon reading the other low star reviews, another reviewer stated that his party received threats, and I also found this picture of the staff drinking on the job! I pulled this picture from a 5 star reviewer, who is CLEARLY a friend/family of the owners, as who in their right mind would give a restaurant a 5 star review while the employees drank wine on the job!? I have reported this review and a couple other suspicious ones for "conflict of interest" as the owners should not be able to boost the ratings of this restaurant by having friends/family write reviews! In this picture, the three people standing (and drinking wine) are employees! This is unacceptable! DO NOT TRUST the...
