Although my experience in the store was fine, I am not happy with the customer service regarding the shipment and delivery of my furniture. The woman who answers the phone has no idea what she is talking about and basically says the same thing no matter who she is speaking to. For example, she told me(twice) that the delay in shipping my furniture may be due to a delay going through customs, but my furniture is made in America, so its obviously no coming through customs. I have been told for over a week now that they are "loading the truck" in Georgia and they don't know when it will arrive in NY. Not sure how or why it takes a week to load a truck. Additionally, the sales man, Frank told me that they deliver on Saturdays, but I'm now being told that they don't deliver to Brooklyn on Saturdays. Clearly he told me what I needed to hear to close the deal. I was then told they only come to Brooklyn on Thursdays, but a manager later told me that they will deliver on Friday. Obviously there is no clear policies or procedures regarding deliveries. It seems that once you pay for your furniture, they don't care what happens because they have their money! Even the manager has not been helpful, in addition to the BS re: delivery days, he told be during our first conversation he would call me back with more info, when he didn't and I called him out on it, he said he tried to call and was unable to leave a message! Really? Do you think I just got my phone yesterday? It absolutely untrue that he could not leave a message as my voice mail is NEVER full and even if it was, I would have had a missed call from the store, which I didn't. So now, I'm about to have a baby with no furniture and a nursery in a shambles! If it wasn't so close to my due date, I'd have AMEX cancel the order and go...
Read moreAs soon to be parents we are on a tight budget. We went to Behr’s, as this is where our parents got our nursery furniture. The price was more than we budgeted for, but we figured it was worth the price for good furniture. We were told our delivery would be on a Sunday and we would be given a 2 hour window. To my surprise, I received a call at 6:48AM on Sunday while I was on my way to work, that the driver was 10-15 minutes away. Nobody would be able to receive the furniture, and at such an early hour on a Sunday I was not able to call any family/friends to go to our house to let them in to have the furniture brought up to the nursery and assembled (as was included in the large price tag). My 9 month pregnant self was very upset as I did not know what to do-I could not leave work and we had been planning for a later delivery. When the delivery driver called me shortly after 7, I had to tell him to leave it on the side of the house (I wasn’t going to refuse the delivery- as baby will be coming soon and we need the furniture).
My husband called the next day to complain and was told we were the first delivery of the day. He asked why we were not called the night before and she said they do not do that (mind you I actually spoke with the store on Saturday). She said there was nothing they could do because I ok’d that it be left on the side of the house. Basically I am hearing that because I didn’t turn away the delivery driver or be rude it is my own fault. Now my husband had to bring the furniture up to the nursery and will need to add assembling furniture to his never ending to do list. This is truly upsetting as there are very few places to get nursery furniture- and this was a rather large...
Read moreZERO STARS but it wouldn't let me give them ZERO - My wife and mother-in-law ordered baby furniture back in February for our first child who is due on May 8th. The sales associate told them that it would take about 2-3 months for the delivery which was fine for us considering the expected delivery date. My mother-in-law called them yesterday to check up on the status of the delivery as they had not heard from Behrs since the initial purchase in February considering our child should be born any day now. The Behrs employee told my mother-in-law that the order cannot be filled and that they are "relocating". My mother-in-law repeatedly asked them why they had a) taken her money ($1100) back in February and not returned the funds, b) never contacted her about this ever (remember, she called them), and c) what does "relocating" mean and why does that mean you can't fill my order now. She never received a straight answer from the Behr's employee and she was told to call her credit card company to file a dispute. This is hands down the worst customer service we have ever experienced in our lifetime. They stole our money and never even took the time to contact us to let us know that our child would not have a crib to sleep in. I highly recommend that you stear clear of this embarrassment of a business. We have contacted the authorities to investigate and we are waiting to hear back from our credit card company which they said could take 2 months to rectify. This is very upsetting considering this should be a very happy time...
