Was excited to hear about the new K-Beauty store at our local mall and rushed over to pick up a few items from my favorite brands. The store was a bit disorienting as many of the items did not have clear descriptions on display or even prices on them. I decided to just pickup items I was familiar with to save time. After making my purchase, I immediately realized that I was charged more than the brand’s MSRP and sale price, and decided, in good faith, to return 1 out of the many items purchased. Went back to the cashier within a minute after leaving the store, only to be told and later lectured by a manager that they only offer exchanges within 14 days. As a person with 20 plus years of retail experience, I appreciate return policies for reasons such as contamination and use, but this was unacceptable. After pushing further I was finally granted my return. Is losing a customer worth $20?
To the business:
(1) A small signage, with the policy in fine print, on a large counter in the middle of two registers is not the requisite “clear and visible” posting on return policies,
(2) You are told AFTER purchase that a return can only be made within 14 days (no mention on the form of return was offered), and
(3) a policy noted on a receipt is after the fact.
Customers are entitled to make informed decisions on their purchases and signage should be clear.
Lastly, if only some items are to be marked with prices, it would only be fair that those prices match your...

I definitely needed assistance but I was taking it all in and needed a few minutes. All the Korean & Japanese brands I was interested in were right there!
