Alpine Mall — Local services in Town of North Elba

This strip of boutiques and eateries and hotels along Main Street is in Lake Placid. There is public parking with public bathrooms. They have a metered parking fee of 50cent per hour. All shops are locally owned. Stores were very nice and staffs were friendly. If you are tired of shopping or want to just enjoy the mountain view, there is a public grassy knoll with a few adorandacks chairs to sit. You have a nice view of Mirror Lake. We spent 3 hours of hopping from store but you could spend all day here. We have been visiting a store named Critters in the Alpine Mall for at least 20 years. We camp in Wilmington twice a year and like shopping the shops of Lake Placid one of our days in the area. Critters by far is one our favorites. Store has a great selection of stuffed animals, Adirondack clothing, mugs, magnets, sleepwear, hats, you get the gist.
