Decent prices and good atmosphere to watch sports. After a great experience with the bartender on Saturday 12/12 we decided to come back and hopefully see him again. I came back in with 3 other people on 12/13 to watch football and celebrate a special occasion. We were "greeted" by an incredibly rude woman with long dark hair. She didn't bother to seat us, or even acknowledge us, other than yelling across the bar at us the following, "SIR WE COULD BE CLOSED IF YOU DON'T WEAR A MASK!!!!!". The ONE (1) member of our party who was standing by the bar getting ready to sit immediately put his mask back up, apologized and stated "My apologies, it was an accident" and proceeded to take off his jacket to sit. She again only yelled "WE COULD BE CLOSED". Again we apologized although it seemed unacceptable for an employee to scream at patrons..
After we decided NOT to sit at the bar we sat ourselves. She then refused to come over and wait on us and said "you need to come up to the bar and give me your IDs". She was too busy to be bothered to even leave her 4 regulars congregating at the end of the bar. Which was not covid safe. It was such a disgusting experience we decided to leave and go down the street. While we were discussing how awful this woman was our waitress at the new bar we went to instead overheard us and asked, "Was it a girl named Cassie? Long dark haired girl bartending? Yeah she's pretty awful." We never asked her name because at that point we just wanted to get out of Zig Zags right away. She was so unpleasant that even the waiters in surrounding restaurants know about it. Needless to say we didn't go back and instead decided to celebrate our occasion elsewhere.
The best part about this experience was the young gentleman bartender who took care of us on 12/12 and taking our money elsewhere to drop a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreShould have known better after reading some of these reviews but the staff was downright rude and disrespectful to my wife (we came to Lake Placid on our honeymoon).
We had a decent time until it was time to pay when we asked for our bill. They rang it up through our credit card (which was to hold the bar tab so we didnāt have to pay cash every time we ordered a drink. We wanted to pay cash since they add a 4% premium if you pay with a card).
They told us they couldnāt reverse the transaction but instead of explaining in an apologetic way, made it seem like our fault. The bartender raised her voice at us and told me āIām sorry you have to go home with herā as my wife tried to explain to situation. Then she said āmaybe you were overservedā in a context that didnāt really make a lot of sense, making me think she was over served herself, my wife only had maybe 3 beers.
It ended with her yelling at us as we walked out. If you want friendly service, this isnāt the place. I canāt believe that a beautiful town like this would have an establishment that treats people this way, and it seems like we havenāt been the only ones with such a negative experience. With so many other bars around the town avoid any potential conflicts or potential harassment and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't usually leave reviews, but this situation has left me speechless. I witnessed a concerning incident where a customer who had ordered drinks asked for water. The brunette bartender, named Kaitlyn, shockingly responded that they should go to the LAKE if they wanted it, claiming she didn't have the time to pour water š³. Interestingly, she seemed to find plenty of time to take shots with other customers. I wondered whether she was the owner of the bar, but it turns out she's not; she simply behaves like one. Her attitude was extremely discourteous to all the patrons, and she constantly rolled her eyes at everyone. She yelled at my husband for taking ātoo longā trying to get his credit card from the wallet (which was literally 2 seconds). And when I politely told her that she canāt talk to people like that and I asked for water, she astonishingly grabbed my drink and threw it against the bar. We left the place and went to another bar where we discussed the situation with others and it appeared that the entire town is well aware of her rude...
