I am so pleased that such a lovely store has opened in this town. From the cold winter streets I was immediately attracted to the large windows full of warm light housing a tidy store dedicated to all things sentimental, delicate and genuine. Excited for this store to open when I saw it months ago, when I was finally able to visit (1/12/22), I was lucky to meet the owner, Mabel, who created this business and then carefully curated her store by selecting what kind goods she wanted to sell, creating a truly homey space to give one a cozy shopping experience. Her business, growing, will carry an increasing collection of stationery and stationery goods like washi tape, chic folders, pens by brands like SARASA and all kinds of stickers to decorate your messages. Cheerful, colorful faux flowers for home decor are there, as well as other goods from Japan to help create cozy memories, from compartmentalized lunch boxes (like those to make bento or go picnicking), Japanese tea sets with cups made in the traditional yunomi style, as well as sake sets, rice polishers, delicate dishes and different types of incense burning pots, as well as authentic short-stick Japanese incense. There are also goods and charms unique to her taste, such as hair clips, small jewelry, keychains with straps, picture frames and socks! Adding to the comfiness of the store, her store sells small house goods to efficiently make use of space by selling containers of all sizes, woven wooden baskets and hanging organizing tools for things such as clothes. It was a truly pleasant shopping experience, getting a lot of things that I usually have to travel a ways for, as well as unique things to Great Zakka I cherish. I cannot wait to return and I am hoping more people will come and see how special this place...
