Avocado oh smoothie — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

I went here and service was okay but I got 2 roaches in my hot chocolate. At first when I saw the first I thought “this may be an exotic seed like a hemp seed or chia seed bc I’m unfamiliar with those” and when I drank the second one I pulled it out and realized it was a dead roach. I work in food and was immediately horrified. How can this guy not notice two distinct roaches floating on the top of the hot chocolate? They might not sell it much but that’s so gross. Even if I paid for it offer me something else worth the excuse ‘the hot drink machine is broken’ or just tell me honestly. But if they covered that up, who knows where else there are roaches? I went for a refund and he gave me my money back and was sincerely apologetic, but as a public food handler myself, I feel obligated to steer people away from here at all costs.

Not to mention I paid $15 for an acai bowl and it was mostly other fruits, which like I get acai is expensive but that just seems underhanded.

Altogether; if you’re considering this place, Don’t. Instead, turn around and run...

My favorite smoothies are the Supreme Fiber and Island Coconut! Also, highly recommend the wheatgrass shot for a boost of clean green energy! Cheers!

EDIT: I’ve now encountered 3 instances where the business has been closed during standard hours of operation. Yet, you’re able to order off their grub hub… Not to mention, the other day I received a smoothie with the barcode sticker from the produce blended into several small pieces in my smoothie. They do not offer refunds.

I've been a lot since I've lived here in the past 4 years. I've tried at least half of their menu. It's pretty good honestly. It's a little pricier than other spots in comparison, but so far I've had no complaints with the quality. Also service has been nice and straight forward too. My biggest issue is their hours. They don't always seem to open on time (10am) like they say they will. Their start time seems to be too late already with Planet Fitness right next door. I can't be the only morning workout person who would want a smoothie at least by 8:30-9am. It seems counterintuitive to business.
