Purchased 2 New Samsung Phones recently. 1st phone I purchased about 3 weeks before Black Friday Sales, I needed a new phone because my old phone wasn't holding a charge anymore and couldn't get buy for 3 weeks without a phone became I do a lot of business using my phone. The 2nd phone I purchased was for my girlfriend as her phone was having battery issues too, her phone was 3 years old. Mine was about a 1 1/2, I was tired of this particular phone as I did have insurance and had replaced the same kind of phone twice, she had the same phone I had and I told her that we are changing phone brands and are not going to buy it through our phone carrier. (To get another phone through insurance I would have to pay $49 first then wait up to a week to get a replacement, even though I was approved for a upgrade because they don't make my phone anymore the insurance company the carrier goes through said that I couldn't get a upgrade because they still have my old phone in stock. I told them I am tired of that phone as I have replaced the same phone twice through insurance. We went to Best Buy because of all the Variety of Different Phones available to us and I like the insurance plans that were available as well. I purchased my Samsung Galaxy Phone from Best Buy Open Box Cabinet, it's still considered a new phone with the same insurance coverage and about $50. Cheaper. The Samsung Galaxy Phone I bought my girlfriend was brand spanking new and has the same insurance coverage. We are both extremely happy as the Samsung Galaxy Phone has a lot of other features included at no extra cost, compared to our old phones of a different brand name and style. Plus, Best Buy helped us set up both our phones and anything we didn't know or understand how something worked they were very helpful and understanding without making you feel that they don't have the time and have to bring it back another time or because of a manager at the carrier store we go to for our service carrier didn't want to help us with setting up our new phones because we didn't go through them. To me that is a bunch BS, it shouldn't matter where we purchased our new phones, the phone carrier should be able to help set it up to work with our current carrier. Even though we have been with our current carrier for over 6 years, I'm thinking that it's time for a new change. I wish Best Buy was a Phone Carrier Network, as we have always have had Great Customer Service for anything we have purchased through Best Buy. We have purchased 2 Brand New Laptop Computers and a Brand New Big Flat TV and all with extra warranties. We Trust Buying all our electronics from Best Buy and the Customer Service has always been Excellent. I wanted something different, a different name brand and I have always been wanting to have a Samsung Galaxy Phone. My girlfriend has a new Samsung Galaxy Phone Too. Thank you, Best Buy for having Great Products and Excellent...
Read moreWe were helped by a sale agent who said the return policy was 30 days for price adjustment and 60 days for return. We trusted him and didn't bother to read the policy ourselves. Fast forward 30 days later, both Costco and Best Buy had our range on sale for about $200 cheaper (with Costco offering free delivery, free removal, free installation, etc., while Best Buy required us to pay for all of those.) So, we stopped Best Buy to ask for just the price adjustment and was surprised that we only had 15 days for return/price adjustment. We wanted to talk to our sale agent but they said they don't keep records of commissions.
We, then, presented our case to a manager saying that we did not want to return the range and would be happy if Best Buy would honor the price adjustment since it was their employee, intentionally or not, had LIED and MISLED us. The manager immediately talked down to us like we were kids, saying that we should've read the return policy and bought their annual "membership" which would offer 30 to 60 days return policy. ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS?!! They intentionally shorten the return window in order to force us to buy their membership. And membership for what? Membership to buy overpriced stuff in their ghost-town store???
So, I had enough of his BS and told him that I used to work in retail and I know that there are system overrides for managers in any retail to process simple issues like this. The manager got even more obnoxious and rude while repeating his BS.
AVOID Tukwila Best Buy and all things Best Buy with your life! This is not the Best Buy I used to know, which had amazing customer service, price matching, and 30-day return policy to name a few. It's so funny to think that when I buy a $5 shirt at the mall, I'll have 30 days to return it but not a simple price adjustment or return for a $1,300 purchase at Best Buy. These guys are CROOKS!!
The few times I visited this Tukwila store, there were practically NO customers. GEEZ I WONDER WHY. I wouldn't be surprised if this store will be CLOSED next year and...
Read moreThe store is a dizzying mix of products, laid out in no apparent order. You've got sound bars littered throughout the TVs, sometimes grouped by brand, sometimes grouped by function. This makes it extremely difficult to find a specific product.
Given that I didn't see what I was looking for, I asked an employee. He wasn't exactly helpful. He was chatting with another employee, doing nothing, and I showed him the product I wanted on my phone. I said, 'I'm looking for this sound bar.' He gratingly informed me that they're actually called sound plates. (Why he felt the need to correct me isn't clear.) He then asked me what I wanted to do - did I want to listen to it? buy it? Given that I knew what I was looking for, it was somewhat clear that I wanted it, and besides, shouldn't the display model and the stock be right next to each other? The employee then pulled the product out from the shelf halfway and left it there. It would have been nice had he actually picked it up and handed it to me. He needs more training on how to politely and helpfully interact with customers.
This is a terrible place to go if you're at all in a rush. Checkout is unreasonably slow, a result of poor staffing and training. I went there when the parking lot was full and the store was busy.. they only had three cashiers. One couldn't figure out how to take the security tag off merchandise, one slowly counted and returned coin change, one left the checkout stand to go get something from the floor, and one turned off his light to do something else. Meanwhile, there were two guys in the back of the TV section doing absolutely nothing. The checkout flow is also confusing and lengthy - you have to check a box every time you check out stating that you don't want to become a Best Buy Rewards member. Do they think peddling this so shamelessly will get us to buy it? Do they think we're stupid?
This place is a mess in a multitude of ways. Unfortunately it's the only electronics variety store in the area. If you can find what you're looking for at Target, go...
