This place is pretty unpleasant in the lead-up to Christmas. I went here on Black Friday weekend and there were a lot of people in a fairly tight space. There's a frantic atmosphere that makes you want not to shop but to promptly leave. Rather than see merchandise tastefully displayed on shelves it's stuffed together on, well, racks. I recommend figuring out what you want by visiting a department store like Nordstrom first, then come here and track it down.
Service is mediocre if you even get it. People don't bother to ask you how you're doing or if you're finding everything. You're on your own.
Selection is limited to whatever got left over from regular Nordstrom, which means you're somewhat unlikely to find exactly what you want. This is definitely true in men's. The stuff they sell is often tacky, unfortunately. I recommend thinking carefully before buying things here - don't get it just because it's a deal. If you're interested in designer items, save up and wait for a sale at regular Nordstrom. You'll get fewer items for the money but they'll be exactly what you want. If you're trying to save money but still want high quality clothes, visit an outlet store (for example, J Crew Factory Store); you'll find a better selection at lower prices.
I was fortunate to find a stunning Michael Kors coat, which looks fabulous and works great in the spring and fall. It was around $120, which isn't too bad.
The premise of Nordstrom Rack is to have designer items at lower prices than Nordstrom. Even this doesn't seem to be true. Items are still quite expensive. On Black Friday weekend the only discount they offered was 30% off clearance items - no extra discount on...
Read moreKind people in a scary moment for me! I experienced a medical situation at the store this week where my blood pressure was extremely low and I was on the verge of fainting. I needed to sit down immediately and ended up having to call the paramedics.
All employees were very kind and treated me with respect, providing me with the best care they could while everything was completely unexpected. I was confused and disoriented but they were steady and helpful. I want to praise one individual in particular...I unfortunately did not get his name at the time but he was AMAZING. He recognized some of my symptoms and brought me a cup of water, and I believe, with his own money, bought me a bag of candy to help raise my blood sugar and see if it would help me feel better. I kept insisting I pay for it with my card but he refused and just seemed to do it out of pure kindness and care. He waited with me for a bit and chatted to make sure I was feeling a little better before having to get back to his job.
The last thing I wanted to do in that moment was to become a burden for anyone but in no way did I ever feel like that. Everyone treated me with respect and care to the best they could at the same time while still running their store. Grateful to everyone, especially the young, male employee in the black shirt who shared some stories and candy with me. Huge thank you to him.
Hopefully this review makes it to the right management team to acknowledge good people who...
Read moreFor the person that loves a great High END name brand or label on a budget! Feels very cluttered, almost like a ROSS. This is a place that you would go to get things that I would consider LABELS. The one thing I can say I like about Nordstrom's Rack is that I can use my Nordstrom's card here. I believe I've visited this location several times and I think the most I've ever walked out of this store with is possibly a pair of rain boots and maybe even a NYX eyeliner. I've never really been one to be really into labels or expensive brands, because I found I am able to look amazing even if I shop at Ross or Target. I think you can create an amazing look or an amazing outfit with under $50...abs can do that ANYWHERE. I mean who are we impressing anyways? It's so funny when I see people going broke trying to look rich. I can't really say anything is special about this location . Theyre bringing in the things at Nordstrom's that are not selling and attempting to reduce the price and sell them here, I'm not impressed. if I'm going to go for an expensive label, I think I would just rather go to Nordstrom's where I can have someone cater to my needs from the beginning part of my visit until the end. ...
