Food was alright overall, but way too expensive for the quality and portion. Spent around $100 per person. Interesting atmosphere and layout of the restaurant.
Skewers were mixed overall with most of them under seasoned if it was even seasoned at all. Many of them were overcooked and lacked proper seasoning, but they have spicy cumin, soy sauce and sea salt to add to them.
Yakitori combo skewer was interesting with the hearts, gizzards, livers and cartilages. The liver seemed undercooked due to the softness and creamy texture that isn't typically associated with it when grilled on skewer. The Momo (chicken thigh) was juicy so that was nice, but under seasoned like most of them.
Kushiyaki combo skewer was dry overall. Pork belly was not even close to being juicy so it might have been cooked prior and reheated or overcooked. Either way, it was underwhelming. Garlic beef and duck was alright though and had some seared flavors with it.
Wagyu prime combo skewer was average at best. I expected high quality for the price and description, but it did not deliver. The wagyu sukiyaki was the better one due to the flavors from the fatty beef. The sirloin and skirt steak was alright, but it was under seasoned so adding some salt helped a little. The ginger scallion paste and garlic paste helped with some flavors, but it doesn't bring out the beef flavor when it lacks salt.
Seafood combo skewer was average at best. Scallops didn't have any sweetness to it and definitely overcooked and chewy. Shrimp was alright. Eel was chewy and didn't taste like quality fresh ones, but it was alright with the sweet eel sauce. Buttery salmon was juicy and had good flavor on it surprisingly.
Takoyaki sauce was on the sour side beyond what's typically expected. Texture was on the soft side and didn't have a nice crispy to it. Somewhere between Kansai (crispy outer) and Osaka (soft outer) version of it.
Ikageso karaage (deep fried squid) tasted great and seasoned well. One of the best dishes of the night. Lightly breaded as karaage should be for traditional Japanese way.
Wagyu sukiyaki hot pot was strange and to don't really get much. The wagyu doesn't have time to soak in the flavors of the broth unless you want to overcook it and it's wrapped around cabbage or something so you can't cook that too long either. Tofu was soft and silky so that was good. Shiitake mushrooms tasted good also. Adding udon was great if you love it since it was able to absorb the sukiyaki sweetness and the vegetables soaked in the flavors also.
Wagyu tataki donburi was pretty good for the soft texture and seared flavor so it was one of the better dishes. However, the wagyu wasn't seasoned well also. The sauce and egg mixed into the rice with the wagyu beef makes up for it so you really notice the unseasoned flavor. Otherwise, it blends in together nicely.
Dessert was interesting, but the look doesn't add a lot to the flavors. The vanilla ice cream was good overall with oreo crumbs, but the dorayaki or taiyaki criss-cross design was strange and slightly burnt on one side. The strawberry mini puffs were not that good. The strawberry cream inside was alright, but that cold puff on the outside was strange. However, I'm not a puff person, but Beard...

My boyfriend and I came here late at night after a movie and it was still busy and had a wait which we didn’t mind at all. But after eating there we won’t be coming back. All you can eat appetizers were not very good and most of the food came out late and cold. All the food was lukewarm like it had been sitting on the counter for awhile waiting and the dango we ordered came out very cold (like colder than room temp which was weird) and the sauce was congealed, it was not appetizing. I didn’t want to finish the tonkatsu because it was too dry and bland and it was an all you can eat so they would charge for food not eaten. The price is absolutely ridiculous for food of this quality. The service was also terrible and probably had more to do with the negative experience because the food was coming to our table lukewarm/cold, and we were often forgot about or ignored. The waiters didn’t know a lot about the menu items /food options and our server gave us an annoying and poorly prepared long shpeel about ordering on the iPad which wasn’t set up correctly and also didn’t even work half the time, and the all you can eat option which he told us was “for both of us” which we took to mean the price was for 2 people which wasn’t true. We even said “this price is for both of us?” And he said “yes this would be for both of you,” and idk if he misunderstood or purposefully hoped we wouldn’t try to clarify more because he wanted to upsell us. We were told the kitchen was closing soon but then the server didn’t take our order sheet and when we got his attention again he told us he had to help other people first. Then we were ignored by multiple servers and our order sheet stayed on the edge of our table for a long time. Our server also had a huge bugger hanging out of his nose the entire time. Also the plates were chipped? Idk no one thought to like replace this plate or make sure the food was warm or anything. I think the Dango is pre prepared and probably supposed to be reheated or something and just wasn’t because it was so cold and the sauce was so congealed, and it looks like it was taken from a bigger platter and moved to the plate. Either way that’s not how this should be served because it should be made to order to taste right. especially...
Read moreExpected good food but absolutely did not expect the bad service we had received.
Before we were even seated our orginal waittress passed by us a few times looking like she hated being there and not even saying a word until she finally came back and asked if we were waiting for a table (we were the only two sitting at the waiting area). Once seated we ordered our drinks and food, she already had somehow gotten it wrong/mistaken it? We ordered 1 Diet Coke and 1 White Peach Black Tea, but she came back with 2 Diet Cokes and put my drink on the table aggressively and said it was "Lychee tea"? She left our table in a hurry but I had to ask her we only ordered one coke and she said to keep it but before I could continue my sentence she just sped walked away. When another waiter placed our food on the table I asked him about the wrong tea order and he said it was probably a mistake because it was the peach black tea I originally ordered. Food was pretty good, first time having Wagyu meat at a restaurant. Skewers are a bit smaller than expected and prices are a bit too much in my opinion but otherwise delightful. But, we were never even asked/checked in on, on how was the food etc, aka regular restaurant standards. (Which disappointed me because I've been in the restaurant business before as well). What disappointed me the MOST was that our original waittress kept asking and checking in on her other tables but never ours. It felt kind of racist, especially with my partner being the only Black person in the restaurant at the time. Once we finished our food we kept trying to flag down our waittress, making eye contact, etc (she was even looking at us a few times) but she kept ignoring us and we waited a whole 20minutes and nothing happened. We had to GET UP to ask for our payment and receipt.
Food was pretty good, prices eh, but disappointed in the service we got.
Yes this is the...
