Maddie's Seaside Cottage — Local services in Tybee Island

DO NOT BOOK ….she listed the wrong price, and when the dates changed she doubled the price and REFUSED even a partial deposit as well as REFUSED to let my family stay for a shorter stay that the money we paid would cover for the adjusted (non advertised and non communicated rate increase) so we didn’t loose $2000. This was only canceled because she doubled the price when we had to change the dates and therefore were unable to afford her rates, that SHE MADE THE MISTAKE OF LISTING INCORRECTLY. I have had to cancel trips on short notice with other hosts before and even though the notice of the issues with the dates well in advance. This host refused to and contributed to ruining my family vacation. She also lied about the refund policy with Airbnb. She stated it was out of her control and all up to Airbnb, which is a blatant lie as I've had at least 3 hosts work with me before to refund me at least partially and every single host i've dealt with in my 30+ stays that has made an error with the listing has honored it their mistakes. DO NOT BOOK WITH TERESE. She is well within her legal right to keep $2000 and deny us a stay during a length of time the cost would cover, however ethically and morally she is not in alignment with business integrity. Save yourself any potential loss, time, money and go book anywhere but here. There are several hosts on Airbnb that have much better...

We had a nice stay at Maddie’s seaside. Ample parking, close to the beach, and within walking distance to many restaurants. Minor inconveniences include no blackout curtains on windows, so very bright when you’re sleeping at night, less privacy since many doors do not close fully or lock (including the sliding door that leads to the outdoor patio - make sure to put down the wooden rod when you leave), and running out of toiletries/tp (between 9 people, two rolls, and 1 week stay, we had to buy our own with no response from host when we requested more). For the $$, we will likely book a hotel next time.

Update: she contested my review on airbnb because we stayed there 5 days vs. a week. Sorry, should have said ‘work week’ instead of 1 week in my review. Regardless,...

Wish I could give 10 stars!!! Absolutely gorgeous cottage. Stayed for a bachelorette party and had an amazing time. Our host Terese was the hands down best!!! She took care of us from the start to the finish. House comfortably accommodated 10 guest. The house was stocked with cooking utensils, pots & pans, beach towels, & grill. Walking distance to the beach, shopping and restaurants. Plenty of parking for multiple guest. Comfortable beds and awesome back deck for relaxing. This was our first visit to Tybee Island but it won't be our last and we will definitely be staying at Maddie's Seaside Cottage!!
