Wareing's Gym — Local services in Virginia Beach

I am a 25 year marathon runner who had not been part of a gym for years and desperately needed some strength! I was nervous and out of my comfort zone at the thought of joining a gym and start classes. One day an add popped up on Facebook for the 50+ 90 day get fit trial membership and I called Wareings immediately. After my first class I came home so excited that my husband joined me for the next one. We are now both full fledged members and hooked for life. The small group and large group classes are fun, challenging and addicting. The classes change daily so you'd never be bored! There are plenty of cardio machines and weights if you want to work out on your own. We love the hometown local feeling of Wareings and the trainers are all so welcoming and helpful with personal instruction. I'm so grateful I took the first step into Wareings! I really appreciate this established fitness staple in Virginia Beach. It's not just a gym, but a family legacy that has been built over six decades. You can tell that Wareing's prides itself on the close-knit feeling it provides for its members. The staff is incredibly kind, outgoing, genuine, professional, and skilled. The coaches are amazing, the classes are challenging (yet really fun), and every person I have met in the gym has a smile on their face. It has a great mix of equipment, different rooms for training needs, and a variety classes. Wareing's always supports community fitness and wellness through its many sponsored events (Hyrox and DEKA competitions free to the public, the Allen Stone Memorial Race, and the Beach Bum Classic, etc.). Where do I start. To put it plainly, I LOVE this gym. I have been a member for almost 18 years. Each time I walk in, I am greeted with a smile and acknowledged by my name. Every coach knows each membes name. The workouts are designed for every fitness level and the coaches are very encouraging. I get a Great workout each time and I feel challenged to push myself to be better with my form and injury prevention. In my late 40's and I feel the strongest I have been my entire life. Whether it's Team Training, Personal training or Parisi for my kids, am amazed each day by how much the staff and coaches care about your well-being Physically and Mentally. Wareings is family to me.
