When we checked in the room smelled like smoke and we asked for spray and they said they would have to send someone up which they did but the hotel room kept smelling like cigarette smoke the whole time we were there. The filter looks like it was never cleaned. Then the sink drain cover got stuck and we could not get it to come back up to drain the sink water. Called down to the desk and they already seem to have known about this issue so they sent maintenance up and the guy was super nice and I’m sure he didn’t mean it but when he removed the piece the drain pipe wound up flooding all over the bathroom floor out into the hallway. When we asked for towels, we were Interrogated why we needed them, but it was due to the flood which they should’ve known about. We couldn’t get the room to stay cool at all. Using the bathroom was like a hot sauna when you’re standing in the bathroom you sweat it has no airflow to the bathroom at all whether you were taking a shower or using the potty you felt like it was 110° in there. There was a climate control on the wall, where you could not even see if it was on or working because the light to show the numbers didn’t work and even if you use the controls on the air conditioner unit itself, it never got cold in there. Parts of the building looks like it’s never cleaned. The elevator look like it hasn’t been mopped in probably 10 years or wiped down, the parking garage is an absolute nightmare. It is so hard to drive in and around it. It’s so tight and it could be power washed to make it look so much better for the price that they charge per night compared to the other hotels in the area. They could really put more effort into making the stay more enjoyable. My daughter was hit in the face by a kid who brought a boogie board into the pool and I guess they tried to find out what room they were in, but nothing really happened about it. A lot of the doors that require key access do not work or are unlocked so anyone can come in and out of the hotel. The hotel lobby floor smells like a mixture of cigarettes, stale peanut butter and mildew. I don’t think they mop the floors in the room or vacuum or steam the carpets ever because our feet were black. We had to keep shoes on the entire time in our room. The light fixture over the shower was falling out of the ceiling. When we told them that the sink flooded when they sent someone up with towels, they put all the towels back in the dirty water that was underneath the sink so we had to ask for towels again. The pictures on the website when we booked it made the room look way bigger than what we actually got. The glass sliding door kept coming off the track to the balcony. It felt like Front desk stopped answering my calls because I was having to call so much so I’d have to walk down. The coat hangers at the front door had sticky, slime all over them and we’re disgusting to touch. The pullout couch had an old mattress cover on it that was covered in hair and lint, and maybe even a dead bug we couldn’t really tell we took it off walked it all the way down and the lady at the desk was looking at me like I was crazy asking for a new one so the security guy overheard what I had asked three times and said come with me And got me one. The wires underneath the pullout couch we’re coming out of the frame and we’re very sharp and they were not able to get put back in. The pool water was very dirty and disgusting looking and I know they said it was saltwater, but I have seen saltwater pools before and I have never seen them that foggy And it smelled like chlorine so if it was salt water as a amenity, why did I smell chlorine and if it is chlorine why was it so dirty? Several of the towels that were supposedly clean, smelled like someone had mopped the floor with them. A few of the rags were so brown that we just didn’t even use them because they were just disgusting like they hadn’t even been washed. I use Choice so I can earn points and I have to say after this last experience I don’t see myself booking with...
Read moreI stayed in this hotel with my family. On 11/8 to 11/12. When I checked into the hotel everything appeared fine but in the middle of the night on 11/9 at 4:30am I woke up itching and grabbed my cell phone flash light because I felt something crawling on me and when I looked it was a bed beg. My arms and legs had visible bit marks. I immediately got dressed and went to the front desk and requested a manager. No manager was available for me to speak to but I was moved to a new room. My current room was 625 I was then moved to a new room but on the same floor room 620. I was told that a supervisor would be in later on in the morning. I went back to my new room showered and had my kids shower. When we went down for breakfast I spoke with the supervisor who told me that it was nothing that she could do but she would pass my information for the operation manager Ricky Patel. As the day went on I hear nothing for the hotel management. Around 3:30pm on 11/9 I received a letter from Ricky Patel telling me that from his experience there was no evidence of bed bugs and that they couldn’t get an exterminator out to inspect the room until Monday afternoon and that he can offer me 5,000 member rewards points to be accredited to my account. The night of 11/10 again was woken up to begs crawling all over the bed but this time it was in room 620. I am a Nurse and I work night shift and I was traveling for work and my son’s football game my spouse sent me the pictures of more bed bugs in the new room crawling on the pillow. I told her to promptly secure the beg inside the pillowcase and tie it shut I was driving back to the hotel and to pack our things because we are moving to another room. Honestly I would’ve just went to another hotel but I was here for work and we spent our money on the room and the hotel refused to give me my money back, also I had 5 of my kids with us and my mother-in-law. Ricky Patel called me later on on 11/11 after the bed bag in the pillow case was turned in to the front stating it was confirmed to be bed bugs and proceeded to accuse me and my family as the reason for the bed bugs and refused to compensate me. I asked to see the report from the exterminator Orkin who he said came out and confirmed it was bed bugs but he again refused to allow me to see the report and stated that he wouldn’t compensate me because he again accused me and my family of being the reason for the issue. I am going to escalate this issue because we don’t have bed bugs...
Read moreI stayed here in June with my friend and wasn’t aware there was a security deposit required for both rooms, and ended up spending $500. Other than that, everything went well until we arrived at our rooms. Our rooms are directly next to each other. My room looks fine, but my friend’s room reeked of weed. We told the front desk, and the lady said it could be someone on the balcony who smoked and it got into his room. We decided to go on about our day and went down to the beach. All the showers on the beach to rinse the sand off were broken, and we were told there’s a working shower at their indoor pool area. We walked in, and it looked so gross in there. It was very stuffy, the floors were dirty, the pool looked green/gray, and then the shower, omg. It was soooo dirty. It looked like it had never been clean.
Piles of dried sand were on the bottom of the shower, and a random shoe was lying on top of it all. My friend and I did everything possible to avoid touching the shower floor. The hotel’s carpet was dirty, and the elevator sounded like it would give out at any moment. We made it to our rooms, and I noticed my toilet and sink were clogged, and the latch to the bathroom door was broken to keep the sliding door closed. I got into bed that night and noticed a stain on the fitted sheet, which was annoying. It was 2am, and I had to go to the bathroom, and that’s when I noticed a roach. It settled for me, I didn’t wanna stay here anymore. I get into my bed and notice a water bug next to the bed across from me. I went to the front desk, and while I walked there, I saw a dead roach. I explained what happened and asked the front desk if I could switch rooms, and they said they were completely booked. The next morning, I canceled the remaining days we had left and was able to get a refund a couple of days later. We ended up booking at the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort. Hands down the best resort I’ve ever been to and definitely should’ve booked here first. They have everything you need here, and it’s super clean. Overall, if you’re scared of bugs, scary elevators, and creepy showers like me, and looking for a great haunted house to stay in, the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Virginia Beach, is the perfect...
