This Hotel is a Scam, showed up there for Labor day Weekend, walked into the room to find my AC not working, moldy smell, stains on sheets, it made my gf almost throw up. I went to reception to get a refund as I was not willing to stay at this hotel, was told to contact the manager, tried contacting him, no one picks up the phone, no one answers my emails, ended up loosing $600 for a 2 night stay. Total rip off, had to report them to BBB.

Clean and comfortable. Great staff. Rooms were not as small as some of the comments would make you believe. Average size hotel room. Parking was limited beside the building, but there are two parking lots. Plenty of parking for everyone.

I do not recommend. Thank God we only spent 1 night here. You pay for what you get! The only good thing I can say is that is right across from the beach.

My significant other and I decided on a last minute overnight trip to VA Beach. We were rained out of our original vacation plans and wanted to do something spontaneous and out of our ordinary routine. So, we headed South Bound. We checked into this quaint little motel which is actually a hotel I discovered. Very affordable for our basic needs and last minute plans. We had made our reservation whilst sitting in the parking lot of the hotel. As I said, very last minute planning. The lady who checked us in at the reception desk was delightful and kind. She informed us of where the other parking area is for the hotel. However, we had no need to drive anywhere the 2 days we were in town. EVERYTHING we needed was basically within 100 steps or less. My partner and I both experience chronic knee and back pain, so walking can occasionally prove problematic when trying to live like ‘normal’ people and meander around town with ease. The location of this hotel was more than perfection in my opinion. The beach was spitting distance (not recommended to test the spitting theory, you know- covid and all- just take my work for it :)

We got a standard room, Queen size bed on the 3rd floor - room 308, that was not advertised for a beach view but we could very clearly see the beautiful ocean off in the distance, past where the Ferris Wheel sits. Even with the cloudy weather we had during our first day of our stay. The room, at first appreciation, was smaller than I was expecting. But once we got our 3 larger luggage bags and 2 backpacks in and we got settled it was quite a cozy little room. It smelled and appeared to be cleaned, it was obvious the linens were very clean, there was a hint of bleach smell, easing my mind that they are doing what they can to disinfect in preparation for guests during the on-going pandemic. Only lack of cleansing I observed was that the floors were sticky…. NOW, to be fair, this may be the cleaner(s) they use for the floors. No dirt or evidence of, was seen. I did not inquire about the sticky floors during my stay, just wore socks or flip flops, I didn't mind that much. I know my personal job uses cleaners on the floors that will make them sticky if you’re on them barefooted. Also the bathtub walls do not appear to have been wiped down in some time. The blinds also were dusty, but in fairness, we had flipped them up the other direction and the opposite side of the blinds did appear to have seen some care and a dust rag recently. Just depends on your blinds preference and which way you like them flipped. There was mild water damage to a few of the ceiling tiles but it appears the hotel is in the process of replacing them. It was obvious some were newer tiles. So I’m appreciating it’s a work in progress.

I also noticed and VERY MUCH appreciated, the hallways to the rooms were warmer than expected. I personally do not mind this since to me, shows they are attempting to preserve energy and use it where it's needed most, in the guest room(s). The air circulation in the rooms is wonderful! I feel it is because the halls are lacking in air conditioning, leaving the ‘good stuff’ for the rooms, where it should be :) OVERALL, I GIVE ALL THE STARS for this place. The folks who work there seem to enjoy their job, which I have rarely come across when on my travels. I will definitely be back in the future for another experience and a hopeful, longer stay than the one night this last time. Thank you 19Atlantic Hotel for your wonderful service(s)!

Sincerely,

A Very Pleased Beach-Goer who Never Goes To...

BEWARE OF THE ROACHES!!! I wish I could give this hotel -2 stars. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in and I don't ask for much, just the basics such as a clean room, decent temperature, and bug-free. Just regular stuff. My husband and I decided to do a quick getaway to VA Beach for a few days. We decided to ignore the 2 star rating and take a chance. It can't be that bad, right? WRONG!! We'll never take a chance without fully reading the reviews again. 19 Atlantic Hotel officially taught us a lesson about terrible hotels.||||There were some pros about the hotel. It has a microwave and refrigerator. There was parking at the back of the hotel. It's in a terrific location. We could cross the street and be at the beach in less than 5 minutes. Also, it was in the middle of everything...clubs, shopping, restaurants, and fun. No complaints about that. I loved it!||||However, when it was time to go in for the night, we were met with a horrible musty smell throughout the hotel and the room. The room was dirty. The sheets were stained. I was scared to sleep on the sheets, so I asked for an extra set of sheets to go over the sheets and pillowcases. Also, they didn't give us a comforter. The AC was blasting air all night. So, we were freezing and only had a measly thin sheet to share. Also, the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. I was drying my hair with my hair dryer and it set off the smoke detector. I went looking for the phone to alert the front desk. Guess what...no phone! How can we contact the front desk, maintenance, or housekeeping without a phone? That's a basic for all hotels. Lastly and most importantly, there were two HUGE roaches running freely in the room. That's totally unacceptable! By the way, I also heard some scratching behind the bed. I just don't want to think about what that probably was. It was a scary three nights.||||If you don't mind a bit of dirt and roaches, go ahead and stay here. Just bring some Lysol and bug spray. If you have some standards when it comes to where you stay, please skip this hotel. You've...

While on a road trip across the United States this is one of the places that we ALMOST had to stay at. My mom and I walked in the room and immediately walked right back out. It was that bad... On the way to the room there was a funky stench that was everywhere and getting to our room was like going through a maze. Then once we got into the room we saw the walls were clearly covered in nasty dirt from the many people that had been forced to stay here. The carpets had stains so bad that you couldn't even tell what color it was supposed to be. The bathroom door was inches away from hitting the bed and the door was mini to begin with, then once in the bathroom you could barely move around to use it. We left and found a different hotel across the street. Within 30 minutes we booked the new hotel for our stay and then returned to cancel our reservation for 19 Atlantic. The guy at the front desk didn't even seem surprised with our canceling or any of our reasons why, he said that we would have to return tomorrow to talk to the manager about a refund but that it shouldn't be a problem because we hadn't even had the room for a full 30 min. Next day the manager refused to give us any refund at all, then after arguing he finally said he would refund 2 of the 3 nights but that he wouldn't refund us for the night we got there. Maybe it wouldn't have been so bad if the going rate was $80 or less a night but it was $160 for the night that we didn't even stay there. I wouldn't wish this hotel on my worst enemy. Funny thing is they have pictures on the wall in the lobby of what the rooms are going to be like but the only similarity from the pictures to the room was the colors of the linens on the bed. Do not...
