If I could rate zero stars, I would. I have a month to month membership which I have been trying to cancel after 7 phone calls to the SLH location. It's funny how they can sign you up in 30 seconds, but you have to go through hell to cancel AND in the meantime, get charged even though you called the day of billing.
I called the location last Friday 2/2 at 4:13pm in afternoon to cancel my membership, explaining why, but was told it could not be canceled until I spoke to an account manager.
I was transferred to an account manager but received the account manager's VM; I had to leave a message and call the location back. I was told no one was working to take my call at that time. (I'm pretty sure 4:15pm on a Friday would be considered within business hours on this planet and the location is open til 10pm.) After being told that they would call on Monday - I asked for a specific time for a call since I have a job and need to block off my calendar. After some back and forth that it was going to be a four-hour window of time during this supposed phone call which i was told was 12:40p-4:40p (during most people's business hours), a manager picked up and assured me I would receive a call and gave me some slots. I chose Monday 2/2 (today at 1pm EST)
I received a confirmation email for my 15 minute call with Kat and then a reminder email for the call an hour before it started.
No one called, so I had to call the location back where I was transferred to VM and had to call back the location...this happened THREE MORE times with no one picking up the account manager or finance person's line and me calling back, explaining the situation for the 4th time. Each person I spoke to had a different story - first, Kat was running behind and then Kat was on the phone and then someone told me that she could see Kat wasn't on the phone and I still was transferred to voicemail.
I called back once more and was told they were running behind. I sent an email - and it's now 2:25 pm and NOTHING.
The fact that you can sign up for this membership without lifting finger but you have to speak to an "account manager" to cancel is a waste of time. Far worse, is the run-around that this location has put me thru since Friday and that is the part that is totally unacceptable. If you need to cancel before the next billing cycle - which I was trying to do - but they make you wait for 4 days - you're going to get charged because of their lack of professionalism. AND I did get charged even though I attempted to cancel!!!!!!! If the account manager was supposed to talk me out of cancelling; I assure you after this experience, I will use up my credits before they expire in 90 days at a different location and never set foot in one of these...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI feel bad writing this because Iāve have a great Swedish massage here in the past. This time I had a prenatal massage since Iām 22 weeks pregnant and was expecting the same kind of massage- just lying on my sides and back (not my stomach). My masseuse applied zero pressure and it was more of just a rub with oil (using her cold hands). I worked up the courage to speak up and kindly asked her if she could apply more pressure and rub harder. She said no- typically a prenatal massage is super gentle. I was so disappointed because that is not what I was told from others who have had a prenatal at other spas. I googled it right after I left and the What to Expect pregnancy website says not to expect pressure on the legs but everywhere else is fine. Hereās exactly what it said:
āAnd donāt expect deep tissue work on your legs during a prenatal massage. While gentle pressure is safe (and can feel heavenly!), pregnant women are particularly susceptible to blood clots, which deep massage work can dislodge. That, in turn, can be risky. On other body parts, the pressure can be firm and as deep or as gentle as youād like. Always communicate with your therapist about what feels good ā and if something starts to hurt.ā
Iām so disappointed because I went in there super tense and stressed from a long first half of the school year (Iām a kindergarten teacher) and I left feeling even more stressed.
The place is beautiful and has a nice relaxing atmosphere so Iām super...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and i went for a couples massage on 12/20 and it was by far the WORST massage we have ever had. The lady who gave me a āmassageā was horrible not only did i ask her twice to turn the fan off of me she insisted it was warm enough in the room. Her hands here freezing and she basically just rubbed oil on me and used basically no pressure at all. When she did use pressure it was to shake me like i was on a bad roller coaster. This lady also stopped to blow her nose 3 times without washing her hands and kept sniffing the whole entire time. She also kept dropping the oil bottle on the ground. This was such a bad experience i was almost in tears. My husband is in the army and he barely gets free time and when we finally had 2 days baby free just for us we wasted it getting a massage by the 2 worst masseuses at the salon. Extremely disappointed i wasted over 200...
