I attended brunch on 4/13 @ 1p. I understand this is prime time brunch & there was both a baseball game & playoff hockey game occurring that afternoon. However I still need to share since my group's experience was that bad. We were seated at 1:30p, were greeted at 1:45p, and the waitress did not come back until 2p to take our drink order, which was then when we were told that bottomless brunch (that we were paying for) would end at 2:50 - usually a 2 hour limit, but since we were not asked for our order for 30 minutes, we lost that additional time. We asked if we could extend this time since we weren't able to order anything for 30 minutes since we sat down, and the waitress replied with "No, the bar shuts down at 3p." We said okay and asked her to be back more often so that we could take advantage of what we were paying for.
Again, I understand that it's busy, but we were seated in the back corner of the restaurant (where it was also FREEZING) so felt extremely neglected. When we ordered our food, someone in our group asked for 2 sides of rice & no beans... and when her food arrived she got 2 sides of beans & no rice.
The rest of the food was good so no complaints there. At 2:45, the waitress did say that she could extend our bottomless drinks until 3:15p & we thanked her. She then did not return to our table until 3:13p, when she asked "all good?" I personally asked for 1 more drink, and she then pulled her phone out of her apron to check the time & then walked away. My friend looked at me & asked if that meant I could or could not get another drink & I had no idea because there was nothing communicated to me from the waitress. She did then end up walking back over to see if anyone else needed anything, and we ordered our last round around 3:15p. We then did not see the waitress until I asked another server where she was & if we could get our checks at 3:40ish. At this point, we were visibly unhappy with the (lack of) service, but there was not once any apologetic tone about the experience, after we did voice our concerns to the waitress.
During this time, the table next to us also had complaints about the lack of attentiveness & overall experience at the restaurant. When we were leaving and stopped at the only 2 stalls in the entire restaurant (another issue), we spoke with 2 other tables with different waitresses that also did not enjoy their experience.
My whole group has been in the restaurant industry, so we understand things get busy, but there's no excuse I can think of as to why we didn't get an apology or 'thanks for understand & appreciate your patience'. I would have not shared this review unless I truly thing something didn't need to change or things could have been handled differently, and want to share my very underwhelming experience. I will not be back and would not recommend this...
Read more*MOUSE RAN ON THE BAR TOWARDS ME AND I GOT ESCORTED OUT BY MANAGEMENT FOR SCREAMING TOO LOUD
The fact that I even patronized this place is beyond me. 6 months ago, my husband and I ordered some nachos (while at the bar) and a roach crawled out of our food! So I asked a dumb question to the bartender….. “Does this restaurant have roaches?”. She immediately said “yes and BAD but all of the restaurants down here have them!”. Now while that may be true, I’ve never seen one EVER IN LIFE, crawl off my plate! So we kept patronizing the restaurant because the manager was extremely apologetic and would give us extreme discounts on our checks and it didn’t happen again.
A few months later, one of the employees overfeeds my dog treats without asking and my dog got sick and vomited everywhere! I took pictures and called the owner. His response was “Your dog couldn’t have gotten sick because our treats are organic!”. After some talk, he said he would offer us a free meal. We already get “free meals” there. I wanted him to pay for a vet visit but he refused. We didn’t want to sure or write any bad reviews because of the relationship we had with the manager and bartenders.
Now 2 days ago, we’re at the bar. It’s 9:08 pm. What do I see? As we’re sitting at the bar, A MOUSE RUNS ACROSS THE BAR COMING OUR WAY! I’m extremely afraid of mice so I scream LOUDLY! The mouse runs back where he came from and behind the bar!
Instead of checking on me, I’m ushered out as if I WAS the problem. I reached out to the restaurant to see if they addressed the issue. Instead of asking if I was ok, the manager says “Were you bit by the mouse? It’s mice all down here!”. My concerns were just dismissed!
He proceeded to ask me what was I looking for? As if I was looking for special compensation! We already eat and drink mostly for FREE at this restaurant so what else WOULD I BE LOOKING FOR? I was calling to see what measures should be taken before I called the health department! It was disgusting to see and I had never seen anything like this in all my life and employees that are just that comfortable with it!
I can’t get over how rudely I was treated for seeing a nasty mouse run across the bar while lights are on and butts are in the seats. We had just paid our bill all of $5 for 4 drinks and 4 shots of tequila so why would we want to mess THAT UP?
At this point, we won’t be patronizing this place because of how we were treated as if the only reason I was complaining about the infestation (that the BARTENDER told us was going on) was so we could get compensation. We were ALREADY getting compensated. I just wanted to know if the establishment gave a hoot!...
