I initially loved living at 1212. The concierge team, especially Ms. Keiya "Keke" Kamora, Ms. Cookie, Heavenly and Ms. Kim, are phenomenal. They went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. The maintenance team was also responsive and efficient. However, things have taken a turn for the worse. I'm not having the same great experience I once had, and it's become clear that things aren't as perfect as they seemed.
This experience is particularly jarring for me, given my background working with Brookfield, where I had a very different experience. I worked hard to improve processes, but my efforts were met with resistance. I even faced a difficult situation where I was assaulted by a resident at Foundry Lofts, and to my disappointment, Brookfield sided with the resident despite his pending charges DOZENS OF LEASE VIOLATIONS AND MORE. I've since pursued legal action and filed two lawsuits. It's been a challenging experience, and I'm still dealing with the aftermath. Given my experience with Brookfield, I expected more from THEM, which is why I'm even more disappointed with the decline in service. I'm hoping that the issues I'm facing will be addressed, but for now, I'm feeling disappointed and uncertain about my future here, but I am moving!
I'm still fuming about my experience with Brookfield. To make matters worse, a colleague, Kamora I loverd, quit without warning or explanation, which added to the stress. Despite my efforts to improve processes, I faced bitter resistance and was even assaulted by a resident at Foundry Lofts. It's clear that the management prioritizes certain individuals over others, and I've lost trust in their ability to handle situations fairly. The resident that assaulted me has known multiple “partners” Leaving in his government subsidized home, Cusses out neighbors all The time, Refuses to lesh his bad ass dogs and wants to move to Estates and take bis drama there! Attached is my Police report. If you live in Foundry and you are assaulted by resident named “Harmony” call the police he is dangerous and unstable! Managers protect him for unknown reasons…particularly the assistant Manager...
Read moreWhile 1212 is a beautiful and convenient place to live, the luxury aesthetic is completely nullified by the staffing. Though I’ve had positive interactions with many staff members a recent issue was so severe as to justify 1-star rating.
This weekend, my partner and I returned late from an evening out. She ran ahead and used her key fob to enter the building because she urgently needed to use the restroom. When she asked to be directed to the restroom on the first floor (which we’ve never used) she was repeatedly asked whether she lived in the building even though she replied yes and was carrying the same key fob she used to enter.
After using the restroom, my partner was locked in and proceeded to bang on the door for 15 minutes before he left to see if she needed assistance. When she asked why he took so long to let her out, he replied “if you lived in the building you’d know how the door works.”
When she returned to our apartment distraught, I went down stairs to address the issue myself. When asked to Identify himself, the staff replied “you don’t need to know who I am.” I asked him to apologize to my partner (who was now upset and in tears in front of him) to which he replied “I don’t need to apologize. Apologies are for people who feel like they did something wrong.” Only after I was on the line with his superior at Inter Solutions (the firm contracted by 1212/Brookfield to staff the property) did he identify himself only as “Harley”
I have never lived in a place in where it is appropriate for the staff who are supposed to be in the service to the residents to so utterly disrespect them. The treatment we received would be completely inappropriate even for people who did not live in the building let alone those paying upwards of $2000 to live there.
My partner and I will be leaving this community very soon unless the issue is rectified. To those looking to rent, if you enjoy copious amounts of disrespect with your fine dining and luxury apartments -...
Read moreAbsolutely horrid customer service. I have visited the complex on many occasions with zero problems, front desk staff during the day and in the morning have been very professional and kind. On the evening of 3/20/2022 around 7-8pm, I interacted with the young woman staffing the front desk. I needed to pick up keys for an apartment I was cat sitting at. I had been cat sitting for several days, picking up the keys (giving ID) and then dropping them off no problem.
She mumbled the entirety of our conversation, barely acknowledged my presence, and then refused to give me the keys because my name wasn't on the guest list. Despite the fact that I provided my ID and my name was on the spare key pouch which was holding the keys. I sat for 10 minutes waiting and then found her watching television on her phone.
I asked her if she was waiting on a call to a supervisor to rectify the problem. She got an attitude and told me she "cannot let just anybody in" and their was nothing she could do. I immediately called the pet owner I was sitting for who tried calling the front desk. But, this front desk receptionist refused to pick up the phone. Then I gave her the owners number and asked if she could call since it was a number linked to the owners rental account.
The receptionist said their was no need she can get the owners number from the account. She called the owner, the owner gave her approval (yet again) and then she gave me the key. She did not look at me or acknowledge me and did not again when I returned it. I've dealt with dozens of concierges in D.C. - the good ones don't do the bare minimum with a horrible attitude.
The entire ordeal could have been rectified if the receptionist had simply called the owner on the account (which she had access to) and then asked for the permission. Or, she could have looked at my name on the manila pouch with the key on it and then cross-referenced the name on my ID. Instead, she turned it into a 30...
