The only reason I am not giving them 1 star is because I like the furniture I bought and the color I picked. Unfortunately nothing else went right. They completely desregarded all of the instructions and requests I had made. As this is a custom piece of furniture I needed it to fit exactly and it was all wrong. I purchased an old dresser to be converted into a vanity. I requested to replace the legs, and even purchased the correct ones per their instructions. As I did not want my vanity to be too tall I explained what the max height of my end product would be (including stone) and they'd told me to purchase 8inch legs and they'll cut them down to size. This did not happen and the vanity was super tall. My contractor spent an hour on this and that cost me another 100$. The response from Meg was the equivalent of a shrug. Sorry bout that, guess we forgot. She was willing to send her people to pick it up and fix this but that of course was no longer am option as the contractor was prepared to install it. Then we found out that while I requested that he legs be moved a few inches to make room for baseboard on the sides, they were not, and this was received with an annoying oops and I'll talk to my team on Monday. That of course did not help me and my contractor had to work on this as well. Next up we learned that while my plan was to install an undermount sink, they had cut the sink holes to fit an overmount sink. So contractor was back at work at 8pm sawing this to fit. Paint for retouches was not included so they had to deliver is especially the next day. It all came with a shrug, as if they don't care at all. On top of this, the vanity was ready a week later than estimated, and though I begged for a heads up to get my contractor ready to pick up asap, they didn't do that for me and it took an extra week to come in, and then all these issues, and then another 500$ extra for my contractor having to fix all of their faux pas. What can I tell you? I'd stay away, I'll make sure to tell everyone I know and I'll find a more professional place to work...
Read moreOverall, it was an OK experience. Luckily I was the only individual shopping when I found an awesome set of 6 dining chairs so did not have an issue with getting assistance (as mentioned in some other reviews). I was a little surprised the chairs were going to take 6 weeks from time of purchase (something not mentioned until I paid in full) but I thought they were worth waiting for so no biggie. I was also told someone would give me a call a few weeks before the chairs were finished to touch base. This never happened, but again, no big deal.
Now I understand Covid has impacted all businesses, big & small, and is the cause of some delays. However, it is not an excuse for poor customer service. With my furniture pick up date set for Aug 31st, I decided to call about a week prior to ensure they would be ready to go. I had to leave a message & received a returned voicemail the next day confirming pick up for Aug 31st.
When the date rolled around, I made a quick call before driving over the MegMade and was told the chairs were not ready? It's infuriating that I had to do all the follow up and received an extremely lackluster apology for MegMade's delay. So after waiting an additional week, the chairs were finally ready. But again, disappointing experience. I was told to pull around the store to load where I was greeted by a man- not wearing a mask- who just started bringing out the chairs and loading before I could look at anything. Weird when you're spending over a thousand dollars on something. The chairs are more or less what I was expecting, but they weren't clean when picked up (sawdust all over) and there are a few spots on the legs that were missed in the...
Read moreI will start off by saying that I cannot speak to the quality of their products. I live in the neighborhood and have had my daily life impacted negatively by MegMade and their staff. I have emailed and begged for change and been met with lip service that smacks of derision. Their staff parks in the ally (we are on a one way street) with impunity and when notified by phone they deny it. Funny thing...I have a time stamped picture (a ton of them) and personally watched a man come out of their building to move the truck after someone else was honking a ton. We have had to start putting a lock on our dumpster otherwise its filled with broken chunks of wood and shipping material. The covered our car with plastic and tape without asking while they spray painted the building. To this day some of the tape isn't off. But all of this is just inconvenient. The headaches are the worst part. We come home to an apartment thick with varnish fumes all summer long. It is terrible. We don't have central air. More often than not we try to keep the window AC units off to save money. With the fumes, we end up spending a lot more money on our electric bill. Even then the headache inducing fumes are present for the duration of all warm months. I have been begging them since last summer to please help us. If your staff needs to wear respirators to work around it what are we ingesting by air? Must be pretty bad. In short they do not care about this neighborhood or the well being of...
