I'm a customer for a very long time, never have I never experienced what felt to be discriminate by a manager name is Michael Portugal. I walk in with my a friend of mine , he tag along. We were at the store looking around for shorts to wear. I didn't see any that I like , I told Mr. Michael if there where any he sayed that all we had in stock. He didn't check the back or anything. I sayed mabye there out of merchandise and I kept looking. I felt a present of him being followed around the store. My though was he being helpful, when I notice other people in the store I told my self why haven't he gone and help them as well. At this point he had followed me around the store until he brought up and said, what's your name, I said Alex , he said , well Alex I have a desser ready , I told him , I don't need a room I know my sizes. At this point I was this not no more let me help you , this is more I'm be here so you don't take nothing. Over the ear piece i heard him say to someone , He told me he know his size that he does need the room, I heard this exactly what Mr.Michael said over the ear piece. I kept walking around looking for more clothes right when I was finishing my clothes shopping I walk to the front to and place my clothes in the desk where they scan, at the same moment you see Mr.Michael head to the door just in case we walk out or something. He walk to the desk moment later. And another employee walks to the door and blocks it too . At this point I was upset. They are jugging you becuase of your color of your skin ,or because they though I didn't have the money to pay. I felt bad at this point and upset. I gave my number to Mr.Michael then in screen it pops up Platinum Member, I recall saying this, Humm Platinum I wonder if I have a coupon, he immediately said, Mr Alex nice in seeing you around again. I stay quite. I spend 373.86 day of 9/8/2024 @ aproxx time 5:38pm store # 09866. I'm bump out in this situation because I been to this store for some time. Not just Brea location but around the country. Never have I never had this treatment. I just want to say DXL employee suck and I would never come back to that store ever again. Read moreThis was my first time visiting a DXL store. My husband needed a pair of dressy shoes and wears a size 15, which can be hard to find. We were happy to see that DXL had a large selection and even advertised that they offer price matching.
I found the exact same pair of shoes for about $40 less on both Amazon and another retail store. The cashier was very kind and willing to honor the price match. However, the manager or lead stepped in and immediately shut it down with a rude attitude. She claimed they don’t price match Amazon (despite the large advertisement not listing exclusions, the excluded stores were in some little book behind the register) and dismissed the other store because they only had the regular width in stock, not the wide.
What bothered me the most wasn’t even the refusal—it was her attitude and the condescending tone she used when speaking to me. Everyone else in the store was professional and friendly, but this manager’s demeanor left a really negative impression.
We ended up purchasing the shoes, but I was so upset I bought my husband a pair somewhere else that he wore. I plan on returning the shoes today. It's unfortunate that one person’s poor customer service can ruin an otherwise...
Read moreI had a terrific time shopping at DXL men's apparel. Natalie who always helps me with my yearly shopping spree. Natalie takes the time to show me the latest fashions and styles, and points out all of the sale items and discounts on any clothing item. She has great taste in men's fashion and makes my annual shopping spree a lot more memorable. She also helps in finding items that her store may be out of by checking with other stores to see if they have what I want and she has it set aside and delivered to my home at no extra cost. Like I said I do a once a year clothes shopping spree and I've been doing that for several years and Natalie always remembers me and devoted and her attention to me while I there.
