
Unfortunately, despite my best efforts to avoid doing so, I must write a negative review about Loc’d Beauty. Menasha was suggested by a personal acquaintance, not a client. She began my loc journey in March of 2022. Menasha was often 15 to 20 minutes late. I didn't say anything because I was so excited to start and continue my loc journey. Despite her delay, she seems to be kind, not to mention the store's proximity to my home was a plus. I have also recommended two members of my family to her. They also began their loc journey with her, and she was also late for their appointments. Menasha was asked by my daughter to start her locs with two-strand twists, half way my daughter noticed she was doing comb coils; once my daughter noticed, Menasha had to remove them and redo them. My son went to her to get his locs retwisted and colored. She informed him that she would dye part of his locs at their next session since she had forgotten to dye a few of his locs. The last straw was, my daughter recently traveled from out of town to have her hair retwisted. 30 minutes before her appointment, Menasha contacted her and canceled, explaining that she was installing loc extensions, which takes a considerable amount of time. She also mentioned that she could not understand why her appointment app did not allocate the necessary time for the installation. She also said that she was leaving town and would return on January 24. When my daughter told me this, I was surprised since I had an appointment on January 21. So, I phoned Menasha. She spoke in circles, claiming she informed my daughter that she wouldn't be available until January 24 and that my appointment was secure. She rambled on without making sense. I requested an immediate refund for myself and my daughter, and Menasha agreed. She then contacted my daughter and I, apologizing for her chronic tardiness, and said she would be happy to retwist my daughter's hair the following morning at 6 a.m. for half price before driving to Miami. My daughter agreed, but Menasha's absence did not surprise me. I contacted her again, expressing my absolute dissatisfaction and requesting a refund. Since we did not get a response, we were forced to submit disputes to our credit card company. Menasha does quality work most times; however, I urge that she prioritize her clients.Taking care of customers while texting or talking on the phone causes her to lose concentration in my opinion. Priority number one for a business owner is promptness. Why do clients consistently arrive at the salon before you while you arrive 15 to 20 minutes later as the stylist? Not being focused, and not checking your schedule, is not good business practice. I tried to support her, but I should have listened to my intuition...

I went in having no idea what I wanted and afraid for much change with long natural curly, full of dull gray brillo pad hair. Hadn't been cut or colored in over a year. You all know that look! I was so depressed. Well let me tell you when I turned around I actually had tears. The old fuzzy, hippie looking woman was gone!
