I don't know where my last review went, but I believe the store is deleting them. I’m posting it again because it’s important to share how I was treated and how other people of color may also be treated in this store.
Even before this recent encounter, my shopping experiences here have not been the best. I usually shop online, but this time I had my item mailed to the store. While I was there, I decided to look around and pick up a few more things for my upcoming trip.
I quickly noticed that I was being followed around the store from rack to rack. It made me fearful, wondering if it was actually a store clerk or a deranged individual.
Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore and loudly asked the person to stop following me. He replied that he wasn’t following me. The fact that he could respond face-to-face was telling in itself.
The manager, who I think was a manager—a woman with black hair—heard our exchange. Instead of asking if I was okay, she shouted, “He’s just doing his job.”
What exactly is that job? Following customers around like a crazed stalker to the point where they can't shop in peace? This incident occurred in December 2024, just before the holidays. I understand the need for security during a time when shoplifting can increase, but this was excessive and extremely uncomfortable.
I should have left after the manager's response, but I still needed to pick up the item I had ordered online and paid for. When I approached the cashier, she was very rude. She didn’t say hello and barely seemed willing to process my payment. I expressed my dissatisfaction with my experience—from the behavior of the security guard to the attitude of the cashier and the manager. When I asked for the general manager’s contact information, she simply pointed it out. She didn’t want to hand me my receipt and just laid it on the counter for me to pick up.
I will never step foot in this Westland store again. I will travel further to the Inkster store if I need anything quickly; the staff there are fantastic and very helpful, even though it’s not a convenient location for me. They assemble outfits for you quickly! Otherwise, I will be shopping online.
Beware—you’ve been warned. Don’t give this...
Read moreMy wife and I just left this place and for it being my first time going in a rainbow establishment its was quite a experience.. After leaving Burlington my wife and I entered rainbow. No hello or nothing just 2 associates at the counter listening to music trying to sing lyrics. As were walking around nothing out of the ordinary. 10 minutes pass and a black (associate so called manager) named amber came up to me and said bag check with a attitude. I didnt exactly know what she ment but she made it very clear by giving me a ticket then snatching bag out of my hand and rolling eyes while doing it and walking off. Now at this time im just blown away. I can understand if its policy but why not get it soon as you saw me walk in? Why not ask me to turn bag in without attitude? There were a million and 1 right ways to ask and be polite about the situation. Right after that situation I told the (manager aka amber) no worrys ill take my bag and leave. I'd rather spend my money at a more professional establishment who's employees respect all customers. Due to the so called manager who snatched my burlington bag out of my hands lost this company money.(i guess they profiled us as thieves because when a white couple walked in they greeted them and were very attentive to there needs its 2019 and people pre judge you like this) I advise all people who has this issue to simply walk away and not spend money with establishments like this. Too many people being disrespected by employees then turn around and buying. No buy else where if they treat...
Read moreThe hours are never regular. When you google what time they’re open till it’s never the same as when you show up. Almost every Sunday that I’ve tried to go they are closed by 6 o’clock. And during the week, the sign on the door says that they’re open till eight but they’re never open till eight. I’ve tried to confirm if they were open or not before by calling, but the phone just rang and rang without answer. Simply updating the times on Google and on the door would fix this, but they never do. And other review say the same thing so you think that they would actually save people some time and fix it. While trying to go in just now I watched at least three other people try to go in to...
