Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Westland

I stay in the area and I love tropical smoothie however this location is hit or miss meaning some times my order is perfect and other time I’m given a half blended smoothies or I paid for extra and didn’t get extra when it comes to my food. I often order online to get the perks but when I arrive I’m standing in the lobby or I have to get in line for anyone to even acknowledge me by then my half blended smoothie is melted and my food is cold. Terrible customer service they have the cubbies for online pick up, but they keep all the food and drinks behind the counter. The people who are making the drinks will see you waiting and won’t even ask you Anything. I go to the one newly Built in Livonia hasn’t even been there 3 months and they are amazing food is always right smoothies are not chunky and they SPEAK!!! Today will be my last day going to this location as I have received another half blended smoothie and I waited 15 mins more after my order was ready just to have to get and line for someone to grab my order...it’s sad the store has potential. I come to this location all the time. But, after today , no more. I ordered a ultimate club and a sunrise sunset. First, the cashier had to call Nieman several times. I guess she makes the sandwiches. Finally she came up front. Funny thing, the owner was in while Nieman was being called. Finally she came up front. My drink was ready. As I watched Nieman, she was rubbing something off the bread and then throwing it in the trash. Then she threw the bag away. She got to a piece that she decided to keep. Rubbed the back of it and started to make the sandwich. I asked what she Rubbed off the bread. "Oh, its JUST MOLD" Just mold! I don't want it. The other employees looked startled. They offered to make my sandwich. I declined. I asked Nieman if she thought selling molded bread was acceptable. She said bread get mold. Walked away and proceeded to the back where another employee was. Told the other person, what happened and started laughing. I wonder if she would use molded bread to make a sandwich for herself. I hope a tropical smoothie opens closer to my house. Because, I will never patronize this...

Why did I give this location another try? It’s bad enough that had I not checked my order (due to previous numerous issues here) I would not have gotten the roasted salsa and bag of chips that come with my order. But I just wasted $18. Thank goodness the smoothie was free due to the promo going on. But the chorizo dilla was so flat and as I looked only like 2 pieces of chorizo were in there. It was pretty much a very lackluster cheese quesadilla since the pineapple salsa and other ingredients were also omitted. The chorizo wrap was worse.

It’s not sense in complaining to corporate because after sending pics and details of another awful experience, there was no follow up at all & clearly nothing was shared with management at this location because they still have the funkiest attitudes. The young lady had the nerve to look pissed as she handed me the roasted salsa and chips that she did not put in my order. No apology or nothing. Learn customer service.
