Dillard's — Local services in Wichita

Dillard's has an amazing assortment of holiday dresses for girls. I was looking for a specific dress for my daughter, and they had it. The size selection is hit or miss as there are only a few sizes available in each style. The prices are a bit more than JC Penny but in my opinion, the clothing is of better quality. The reason my review is not a 5 star is that this store at Town East mall DOESN'T have enough registers open. When another customer and I needed to check out it took 15 minutes to find an associate as no registers were open. The employee we stopped was heading out to lunch and complained to both of us for having to check us out the entire time. Her attitude made us both a bit uncomfortable.

I also was dismayed when a few days later (yesterday) when I went back to make a return. The place was crowded (Sunday) and yet again there were limited registers open. After walking to the other end of the store trying to find one, waiting in a ridiculous line the employee informed me that he was unable to take my return because I needed to go to that specific department to return it, which was on the other end where I just came from on the same level. I asked him if he could call/ page an employee down there to open a register because there was no one there. He said he could not and took the person behind me as I was ushered to the side. Another rude encounter.

I get it the holiday season, crowds are expected and employees are scarce these days... However I never saw so many at the jewelry and make-up counters standing around unable to...

You have an amazing employee in Desarae Griffin in women's lingerie. My sister in North Carolina has been searching everywhere for a short, white terry cloth robe as my gift to her daughter. I checked your store and, lo & behold, there was the robe--in the wrong size! Fortunately, Desarae was helping me, and she immediately volunteered to see if she could find it in another store. Initially, she could not even locate the style number because something was wrong with the system. While she tried to find the answer, and I waited for her to call back, I feared the robe had been discontinued, and the hunt would start again. So I was thrilled to get Desarae's call saying she'd found it and would send it to my niece in time for Christmas. I cannot tell you how appreciate I am of her exhaustive efforts and lovely demeanor, especially knowing that she would make nothing on my sale and that the time she spent with me likely cost her commissions on sales to other customers. Dillard's should count itself fortunate to have an employee like Desarae Griffin, who graciously models the words, "customer service." Give...

My daughter said yes to her 1st HoCo dress and she, I, my other 3 (ages 6,7 and 9) shopped their size shoes nearby while she tried on dresses. The woman in children's shoes was visibly busy and hopefully on hold on the phone but she still patiently watched us and asked if she could help when my youngest needed to find a restroom. Hannah was quick to put the dresses back and checked us out promptly when I told her we were ready. She was very kind about my teen changing her mind to another dress last minute and got us a garment bag. The escalator was out and my 7 and 9 yr old wandered out of sight looking for the elevator and when I found them they were near an associate who was helping another family shop. I was so grateful she asked what we were looking for and took time to point and walk with us towards the elevator (as the upstairs escalator was being worked on). She said her name was Linda. We went upstairs to the women's shoes and the ladies were so patient and helpful as well. We'll be back to shop more! Great experience and great staff members providing wonderful customer...
