PLEASE READ THIS DO NOT CHOOSE MENS WEARHOUSE.
My husband and I purchased a jacket, a pocket square, and a tie for our wedding from this store.
The employees measured my husband, helped him pick out a jacket, and told him that it fit great. So we didn’t expect to have it tailored. The employee showed us the pocket squares, and helped us find a matching tie.
This was my husband’s FIRST TIME EVER buying a suit. He NEEDED the guidance from an experienced professional to make the best decision. ESPECIALLY, for such an important life event.
We got home, and my husband tried on the jacket again. He asked me how it looked, and I told him that I thought it was ill-fitting and probably needed to be tailored. He tried adding in the tie and pocket square to see if the final look would change my mind, but the pocket on the jacket was FAKE. Not a real pocket. LOL. WHY did the employee help us pick a pocket square for a FAKE pocket on a jacket that the employee picked out for us. lol
Moving on, we took the jacket to Joseph A Bank on the East side to have it tailored. The employee and tailor asked him to put on the jacket so they could see what to nip and tuck for him, and they IMMEDIATELY STARTED LAUGHING. They asked him “WHO SOLD YOU THIS SUIT JACKET!?!” To which he responded, Mens Wearhouse on Maize Road. They gathered all of the employees around and used my husband as a spectacle for what NOT to do to their customers.
They re-measured him and discovered that the jacket was 3 SIZES TOO BIG. No wonder it looked ill-fitting???? They told him to go return the jacket and they would help him with a new one.
We took the jacket back to Men’s wearhouse. He explained to the employee that we needed to return the jacket. We paid cash for the jacket, and the employee explained that they did NO refunds for cash transactions over $50.
So of course our response is WHY would nobody disclose that information to us??? We would have definitely chosen a different route. The employee told us that it was printed on the back of the receipt. LOL WHAT!!!! So you’re telling me that it’s in the FINE PRINT ON THE BACK OF A RECEIPT THAT WE DIDN'T RECEIVE UNTIL AFTER WE HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR THE ITEM. LOL
He offers to mail us a check that will take 3-4 weeks to receive. The wedding is in less than a month.
WHAT A SCAM.
BUT WAIT THERES MORE. LOL.
They tell my husband that they will exchange the jacket for him, but unfortunately they don’t have the same jacket, the only jacket they have in that size costs $100 MORE than the original jacket, so he will have to pay the difference. ARE YOU FFING KIDDING ME LOL.
We can’t lose out on the $300 that we paid for the jacket, or we won’t be able to buy him a new one. The wedding is in less than a month now, so we are forced to accept the ONLY option that they’re offering to us. He paid the difference, now we’re over budget, and still have to pay for a tailor.
Thanks...
Read moreI gotta say my experience started off okay, but the more help I needed the more frustrated the employees seemed to get.
When I first went into the store, a woman quickly assisted me. When I told her I wanted to purchase a tuxedo she said I’d have to get online and make an appointment for assistance with that.
I left the store and called at a later time to inquire about an appointment and David answered and said the appointment wasn’t necessary and it was easier to come into the store and he’d help.
When I finally made back into the store, I was assisted by a different younger woman. She seemed extremely pleasant until I started trying on different styles of suits and tuxedo pants (this is for my own wedding so I wanted to make sure I got what was most comfortable) and I needed to find a good fit.
My experience from there just kinda went downhill. While trying things on she completely disengaged me and seemed bothered that I was trying on two different suits. At that point she kinda disengaged. I finally decided I wanted to just purchase a tuxedo and she said she’d have to order it online.
During this process, another employee arrived talking about how she accidentally hit someone’s car when she opened her car door. She was going on and on about that personal situation which was just kind of unprofessional. The girl that helped me order the tuxedo online, said I had to order a size down because the website wasn’t allowing her to order the size I needed. She said probably cause it’s in stock at the store although she never got up to check.
By the time I paid for everything she was completely disengaged and I walked out of there with a brand new white tux shirt with no bag. I just had high hopes for this experience and this staff made the experience unpleasant I felt more like an inconvenience than a valued customer. If you want a pleasant purchasing experience don’t come here, not worth it.
UPDATE
It is now 11/24/24, and I had to reach out to Mens Wearhouse to make this right. I just learned that I was charged for a Tux coat by one of the staff who said it would be delivered to my house. This was not correct. She processed my order as an instore purchase, so I've been waiting for a Tux coat that will not arrive--and the store still has not contacted me at all. To be fair Henry, has been great in assisting me during the his process, however, I still don't have the item that has already been paid for. Seems as if people are penalized for purchasing a Tuxedo instead of renting it. So weird.
This has been the worst purchasing experience I have ever been apart of. Don't waste your time...
Read more4/1/23 3pm—Spent 1.25 hours waiting to be fitted for a prom tux rental for my son. Didn’t know until after we had waited for 10 min that we had to check in through a QR code at the door. It was finally our turn and we got the poster child (girl in short green romper with tagged suit coat) of a worker who absolutely hated her job. After getting measurements, she took us to a wall picture to pick out which tux he wanted. He only got one option in style and was told he couldn’t try on a bow tie to see if he liked that over a regular tie. When he told her the shirt felt big, she said “it’s not going to be tailored to fit you tight. That’s the size to fit you”. When we asked about how short the pants were (they didn’t even go to the top of the shoes) she said, that’s how long they are supposed to be (he’s 6’1”, I’m guessing they make long pants). Cost was never discussed until it was all rang up and we were expected to pay for it. Very nervous to see what this tux looks like when we go to pick it up. I don’t have high hopes that it’s going to be anything close to what he wants. The absolute worst customer service I have experienced in...
