Studio 1 Dance Conservatory — Local services in Wilmington

My daughters are 5 and 8 years old and have been dancing at Studio 1 since they were each 3 years old. We began taking recreational classes and now my oldest has been on their competitive team for 3 years. My girls love the variety of classes offered and have grown so much each year. They have taken ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, acro, hip hop and contemporary classes. I would have never guessed my shy girls would love performing so much not only in group performances but solos and duets as well. They even had an opportunity to complete in a sister dance together with one other pair of sisters. Certainly memories we as parents cherish so much!

All of the instructors including owners Kim and Philip treat my girls as their own family. They have not only taught my girls amazing dance technique but also improved their confidence, self expression and taught them what it's like to be a dedicated to a team...qualities and values that will help guide them in life further than the performance stage.

Dancing at studio 1 has truly been a family affair for us. They even include the dads for a special daddy daughter dance at the end of the year recital.

This was Maddie’s first year with Studio 1, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the experience. From day one, she was welcomed not just by the dancers — who immediately treated her like family — but also by the incredible owners, Kim and Philip McGee, who opened their arms and made her feel truly at home.

Transitioning from the only dance studio Maddie had ever known (at age 10) was a big move, but Studio 1 made it seamless. The choreographers and teachers are not only committed to excellence in technique and performance, but they also provide thoughtful, consistent feedback that helps each dancer grow. Their balance of high standards with encouragement and care is what sets Studio 1 apart.
