I had an unfortunate experience with AJ today. I placed an online order and showed up when the store opened at 12, before I had received confirmation that my order was ready for pickup (I understood this and wasn't in a rush). AJ was quick to help me and explained that orders aren't ready instantaneously and I let her know I wasn't in a rush. After a little more explaining from her, I may have rubbed her the wrong way by saying I didn't understand the big deal; the trading cards I was picking up were within reach and I let her know I've done this before (maybe closing out online orders is a pain on their end, I was drawing from my experience with doing this in other GameStops). Because I had paid online already - she was just going to cancel the order and sell them to me - I asked for confirmation that I wasn't charged. "Check your bank account," she said. I pointed out that it was rude and she said "I'm not a nice person." And when I left she said "I hope you have a better rest of your day." And I told her I didn't think she should work around people.
I might have come across a certain kind of way that irritated her; I have many years under my belt dealing with the often-annoying public. I get it. But I think her reaction was disproportionately rude if she didn't care for my vibe.
