Spirit Halloween — Local services in Wilsonville

Worst customer service experience. Bought some decorations on 10/19. Had to return one because it didn’t work properly. The manager told me they would only exchange it for something else they were no longer providing refunds. I explained that they did not have another one on the shelf that was working properly and that I didn’t want anything else in the store. She circled the section on my receipt that said no refunds and told me I should have read my receipt. I explained that this should not apply to faulty products. She replied it does and that I would have to get something at the store or drive to the other stores to see if the had a replacement. She did not offer to check the other stores I would have to drive there and hope they had it or exchange it for something I didn’t want . She told me it was my fault for not reading the receipt and then went on to tell me how she reads every receipt and all papers she signs as though this had anything to do with the transaction. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she refused to provide the information. I eventually got my refund but it took almost 15 minutes of her arguing with me that it was my fault. First of all, our experience shopping in the store was outstanding. This location was inside the former Office Depot in Wilsonville, and it was incredibly clean and organized. The animatronics were very entertaining! Floor staff were very helpful, and our daughter found an amazing costume and accessories. The problem, sadly, began at check-out. The cashiers were extremely, uncomfortably, aggressive regarding donations for our local children's hospital. I was asked three different times, in three different ways, to make a donation and I declined. The third time, our cashier announced loudly to her co-workers (and, honestly, all nearby customers as well) "OK, so we're NOT rounding up today!" I had just spent over $100 on Halloween products. Instead of being thanked, I was shamed (loudly!) for not making a donation. I'm not sure if the employees were trained to interact this way, but it was very discouraging. We will likely shop at another location next...

Visited on 9/24/20. The store itself is large and looked like it had a ton of merchandise. The problem is it still reeks of smoke from the recent fires. I couldn’t bring my child into the store. I will go to a...
