Barrow County Museum — Attraction in Winder

Parking was available on the side of the old jail turned county museum. And honestly, that fact alone kept finding its way into my thoughts as I walked through the museum.

I visited on a weekday afternoon, looking for a peaceful way to spend my day. This was the perfect place and I learned so much. A quaint museum housed with the rich history of Winder (Jug Tavern), Barrow County, it's pioneers and many significant contributions to the growth of the area.

Memorabilia, photos, and interesting artifacts wind you through several rooms and each one I visited was filled with knowledge from the past.

Welcoming place. When we went, a former teacher was at the helm, giving a brief tour, ready to answer any questions and have a good chat with. Not crowded at all the times I went; it's very easy to just stop by. Plus it's free.
